The Little Peas, either, although Gooftard was certainly worse. But you're absolutely right about how feelings can make a difference when you look at someone. I've alread posted about that subject regarding a woman I used to know named Beth so I won't repeat that here. Another example I know of comes from an episode of
Frasier, during the story arc where Daphne gained an awful lot of weight. Everyone could see it except Niles, but maybe he just didn't care; he was seeing the woman he loved, who he'd been in love with for so long. Who she was had become more important than how she looked, and no matter how heavy she got she'd always be beautiful to him. There's an important lesson in there about how human beings see each other.
