That's a great price, and one you don't see too often (and usually for clearances).

I wore Converse All-Stars (or Chucks, as I've always called them) for most of my childhood. Many different colors (I like the classic off-white ones the best), all hi-tops. My father has dozens of pairs that he has worn since the 1960s, he's painted many of them to look like zebra stripes, leopard spots and the like.
Extremely comfortable shoe, especially brand new.

Problem is I wear one pair of shoes pretty much all the time, so I wore out the soles of my Chucks after 5-8 months. That was fine when they cost $15-$25. I can't pay $40-$50 for them knowing I'll wear them out so quickly, not when a $50 pair of Vans lasts me 2+ years.
I do buy other Converse shoes to play basketball in.

Odd that when Converse went bankrupt and moved production overseas the price of the shoes went up. Went up again when Nike bought the company.
Curse those heavy consuming punk rock fans!!!
