It occurred to me that "A Day in the Life" sort of episode centered on Mac might be of some interest. Following an 8-year old around his school all day might not seem too exciting but it
is Mac, after all, and it might provide more insight into what makes him tick. Who, if anyone, does he hang out with at recess? Does he get bullied? What's his favorite subject? Still some mysteries surrounding him.
