See, that was part of my problem with
Surf's Up. It set itself up very nicely with the whole mockumentary angle, and then in the latter half of the film seemed to forget about this altogether. Characters starting revealing personal secrets and plot points which they would surely have been at less of a liberty to divulge if a camera crew had been there watching and filming the whole time, as the movie supposedly wanted us to believe. Whether these scenes were intended to be read as exclusive from the main "documentary" itself, the film failed to make clear. Either way, they were certainly a lot less fun than the earlier scenes, when the mockumentary vibe was at its most prominent.
