To clear up why that rumour probably existed, it was that Craig McCracken stated on his blog when discussing Mac's concept art that he kept coming out " too much like Charlie Brown" until the square head we all know and love was added
. Mac wasn't based on anyone as far as I know, except possibly subconsciously McCracken himself
. People tend to subconsciously mold the more stable and moral characters in their works after themselves, (Frankie looking a suspicious amount like Lauren Faust
) but this is rarely a problem.
