lol, that was one of the best posts I've read in a while. Sure brightened my day, thanks Rid.
As for a somewhat amusing story of my own, I went with my dad and sis to get their tree the first Sunday of December, as has been the family tradition since before I can remember (they ALWAYS get their tree the first Sunday of December). That Sunday was also the day that led up to all the flooding in our area. There was snow on the ground but it was well above freezing so it was all melting. On top of that it had started raining- HARD! Non stop! (And it wouldn't stop for over 24 hours). I wore thermals under my clothes, my water resistant winter boots, and I thank God for the second pair of gloves I had stashed in my coat pockets. We went to cut the tree down, in the slush and mud. My dad and sis got soaked to the skin and all muddy. By the time we had the tree cut down and carried to the car, they were shivering and miserable. But I was all warm and toasty, and took off my sopping wet gloves and replaced them with the clean, dry pair I had in my pockets. Ha!

And my dad had mocked me earlier for wearing thermals even though it wasn't "that cold".
On another note, I love decorations. I always love seeing them, as long as I don't have to pay the electric bill. But this year I've felt too busy and stressed to bother with decorating. I put my tree up, that was fun. But I procrastinated in putting any other decorations up, including the lights around my patio door, front door and bedroom window. I never got around to my front door, or hung the stockings up over my fireplace or any other decorations. And now it's getting so late, I'm thinking "Why bother now?"
I even got play-doh and was hoping on making some ornaments out of it (and baking them so they'd last forever). But I've been so crazy busy, and when I do get a moment I just feel "blllaaaahhh" and haven't done it yet. I still might, I guess. It's just so late now...
