It was a small explosive, Harry wasn't stupid enough to throw a big bomb inside his own place. He'd be killed too if it was a big bomb. That's why he threw a small explosive at Peter and how it only scarred him.
Venom/Brock died because the bomb was inside the symbiote and Eddie jumped into it because he felt he couldn't live without it.
Oh yeah and the last movie I just watched was...
