I still don't really get a Seattle feel there. And the presence of such large redwoods also point to Northern California.

I guess this is what they meant by just being the Pacific Northwest. It seems that it's more of a hodgepodge of the entire region rather than one specific location. Much like Hey Arnold!, which seemed to take primary inspiration from the Borough of Brooklyn but is actually a major city near the Washington/Canada border. And has plenty of evidence throughout the series to back up such a claim rather than just a random placing done by creators year later.

So looks like we've got a Metropolis on our hands if you get my drift.
