I think that was the whole problem with the episode. The concept was smart, and it was something we could all relate or understand.
However, just because an idea is smart doesn't necessarily mean it's going to make for a very entertaining half hour cartoon show and stay "fresh" for 30 minutes straight.
Maybe if they had more jokes in it, or maybe had Mac able to interact with Bloo IN the store, it might have been more interesting. But otherwise, it's a nice concept sticker on a rather bland/average package.
