So yes, the other day, I heard a sizzle coming from the general direction of my compy 3000, but the computer was off. I inspected and smelled burning plastic, so I unplugged it all. Nothing works over there now, so I had someone savvy with electronics (I surely didn't want to get zapped) check the wall to find that as the house settled, it settled on the wire leading to that outlet. It cut the wire and melted the plastic, and it had shot sparks. You can see on the inside of the wall where the sparks burned it!
I'm SO happy I still have a freaking HOUSE left after that!

What if I wasn't home and it had caught fire?! It's an old house, so it's made me scared for the other possibly faulty wiring elsewhere in the house.
Of course, with no socket for the computer, I'll not be on NF as much as I've been of late until I get the wire fixed, but I'll get on as much as possible still at school.
