A man ran out of my local Walgreens yesterday evening as I was approaching the store on my nightly supply run, carrying a hand cart full of stolen merchandise. One of the workers chased him but she's in her mid 60's and had no hope of catching him even before he jumped into his car and drove off. Had I gotten there even thirty frikkin' seconds earlier I could have and would have taken the SOB down but such was not to be. This ticks me off no end; people like this loser cause nothing but problems - and higher prices - for the rest of us. In any case a policeman arrived soon after the incident, and I hope the store's security cameras got a good pic of the perp. He belongs in a cage.
Update - The worker who gave chase got the perp's license plate number; the police caught him 20 minutes later. Turns out he and his girlfriend have a history of this kind of behavior. Here's hoping that they get put away for quite awhile.
