The Lego Movie (2014)
This was... surreal.
Quirky, but in a good way, amusing and likable characters, good special effects on top of an almost entirely CGI production, and a late plot twist that I did not see coming, all combined make for a pleasant viewing experience. Nothing particularly heavy or deep here, although the ending is sweet and warm... at least until the last scene, when the Duplo blocks show up, and you burst out laughing.
Not going into too much detail here so as not to spoil things for those who haven't seen it yet and if you're one of those people, rent it when you have a chance; it's worth it.
