I didn't want to turn the Anticipated Movies of 2010 thread into a Smurfs thread. So here's what we know about the movie so far:
Columbia Pictures will release the film with Sony Pictures Animation. It'll be a mix of CGI and live action (like Alvin and the Chipmunks), and it'll be set for a 2011 release. The live action cast includes Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara and Hank Azaria as the evil wizard Gargamel. Voicing the Smurfs are Anton Yelchin (Terminator Salvation) as Clumsy Smurf, Fred Armisen ("SNL") as Brainy Smurf, Jonathan Winters (It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World) as Papa Smurf, Katy Perry as Smurfette, Alan Cumming (Goldeneye) as Gutsy Smurf and George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf. Quentin Tarantino has denied any involvement in the film. The plot is as follows:

The film has started filming and will be directed by Raja Gosnell (Scooby-Doo, Yours Mine and Ours).
