We watched both of those films back in A Level history class - as I recall, they were very good. Sadly, the information given at the end of the "Rasputin" film is now a bit out of date, thanks to some really very recent forensic testing which was finally able to identify the bodies of the two missing Romanov children. I remember feeling saddened when I heard about that - on the one hand, it was nice to finally have one of the great historical mysteries solved, but, up until that point, it was also nice having that small window of possibility that they might just have survived, even if the odds would have always been quite heavily stacked against them, particularly Alexei.
As for something which made my own day, well, yesterday I went hiking around a local coast with my two housemates, and we saw a whole family of one of my favourite animals - that is, weasels (or possibly stoats - they moved a bit fast for me to properly identify them). They just happened to run out in front of us while we were walking, and disappear into some long grasses, and there must have been at least eight of them. I wasn't able to get any pictures, since it was all over so quickly, but I feel really privileged just to have seen it. Definitely something you had to be in exactly the right place at the right time for.
