Musical Comedy/Broadway

Anybody here like Broadway or Musical Comedies? What's your favorite?

Right now, my two favorites are "The Lion King" and "Wicked", neither of which I've seen yet (how boring, I know), BUT the sound tracks are super!

Any comments?

I love musical comedies :cheese: ! They rule. I'm going to see Spamalot in London soon, and cannot wait!

I loved "Sweeny Todd," "Cats", "Grease," and "Dracula" - I have seen all of these on Broadway.

I don't know if this counts, or if I should even admit to it, but the last show I saw live onstage was, uh... Scooby-Doo.

OOHH!!!! I want to see it too. I like the concept.

My fave show is "Rent". The only actual "on Broadway" show I got to see was The Phantom of the Opera, I got to see when I went on a marching band trip.

Spamalot and Avenue Q are at the top of my favorites soundtrack-wise (I have sadly never seen them for myself). On the ones I have seen, I love The Producers, The Phantom of the Opera, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Fourm, and The Lion King.

As for Off-Broadway stuff or the ones I want to see...I won't bore you with a long list. ;)

I also loved the production of Capitol Steps that came here last sunday, although I'm not sure if that really counts as "Broadway" or even a play. It changes very frequently to keep up with current events.
