2012 list of words/phrases that should be banned
 

Here it is, folks...Lake Superior State University's list of words and phrases they have deemed to have worn out their welcome from the get-go:

Haha, aw man, I'm using "baby bump" a lot right now. My sis-in-law has one, and it's just getting bigger. :D I'm afraid I'll never get away from "Pet Parent" with my line of work. Maybe I'm out of touch, but how come I haven't even heard "blowback", "win the future", or "trickeration"??

"Baby bump" is on the list because it's mainly used by celebrity gossip rags. "Trickeration" is an invented term coined by ESPN to describe a gadget play in football and "Win the future" was coined by President Obama in his State of the Union address this past January. (Acronym WTF, for which Sarah Palin was quoted as saying "That speech sure was full of 'WTF?!' moments").
