Happy 115th birthday...

...to comic strip artist Elsie Segar, creator of the strip Thimble Theater. The strip, when first created, originally starred Olive Oyl and her family. In 1929, a gruff, ugly sailor-for-hire was introduced and he would be christened Popeye.
