Pumpkin carving fun!

One of my favorite Halloween activities is pumpkin carving. I usually do about three every year!

Here's one I did recently, it's of Dr. Steel (my current av). I drew it freehand from a much smaller picture and I think it turned out really well!

Here's one I just found. I WISH I could carve this well. Seriously, this is amazing work:

Haha... it really is a JACK-o-lantern...

*brikt for being cheesy*

Does anyone else have pictures of their lovely carving endeavors? Whether it's a simple toothy grin or something crazy like Jack, we can still oooh and aaah at it =D

Awesome!

I carved an artificial kin a couple weeks back to give away at the Tarantula Society meeting, I used a tarantula pattern I found online. I don't know if I'm going to bother carving any real kins this year as we will be out of town on Halloween anyways.

I know I have this link up someplace else, but here is my page of the few patterns I've created.

Dang, I wish I could carve a pumpkin that well, those are pretty sweet! I once carved a silhouette of a cat into a pumpkin, and it turned out like utter crap.

Those carvings are spectacular, I love seeing the really detailed and artsy types. I don't think I'd ever have the patience to do a carving that fancy, though. I've always stuck to the old fashioned (and maybe boring) Jack-o-Lantern styles. Here's mine from the last three years. :)

Hehe, I honestly wasn't trying to get each picture to be a little smaller the following year. And, the first one is from Snapfish, the second from MySpace, and the third from Photobucket. I have too many online albums. :-[

@ Lynnie: I looove the middle one. It's so cute! It looks irritated to be there haha! Like it's saying "Really? You're gonna put me out here?" The top one is super happy and cute too!

@ Sparky: I will look into carving one of your patterns if possible. They look a bit difficult but if I try one, I will definitely post it! And I need to start carving fake pumpkins... I'm always so sad when they get all wrinkly and weird looking. Dr. Steel looked like Elvis by the next day because his mouth was curling so bad haha!

@ everyone else: Thank you! =D

Hey, scary. I am really impressed with your pumpkin carving abilities. Excellent work! :)

Scary: That Dr. Steel carving is just amazing. Where did you get the patience to come up with that? :)

Lynnie: Very sweet and simple carvings there...I think the middle one's my fave, it's almost like it's saying "yeah, whatever", kind of. XD

Pawbah 10-24-2009 12:59 PM

That's really impressive, Scary. You have some mad carving skills.

Lynnie, yours have a lot of character for just being simple designs. Very cute.

I want to make one of the Left 4 Dead logo (the zombie hand with four fingers), that'd be awesome.
