RIP actor Karl Malden
Yes, another one. But at least it's been six days since the last celebrity left us.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090702/...obit_malden_23 I personally knew him best as the Reverend on the 1960 film Pollyanna with Hayley Mills, but I remember watching reruns of his '70s show "The Streets of San Fransisco" and then there were his 20 some years as a spokesman for Amex Traveler's Checks that I grew up with. He had many movies between the late '40s and into the '70s, most are now classics. Among them are Patton, How the West was Won and The Sting II. He did however live to the ripe old age of 97. He was alive when the Titanic sank! :o I think it's great he took good enough care of himself to live that long. Rest in peace, Mr. Malden. You've left a grand footpint in cinema history. :cry2: |
Not General Omar Bradley!:'( But 97 is a rich and full life. While I admire him in other films and TV shows, I remember him best for being Omar Bradley in "Patton." RIP:sadbendy:

I actuallu just saw him in the show 'West Wing' when I was reqatching season 1 episodes. Wow, I can't believe we're losing all these great lives. :(
But as Howard said, he was 97. I'm glad he just died a natural death :) |
