Heath Ledger's Posthumous Awards

I feel that as an Australian, I need to announce this:

At the Australian equivalent of the Oscars (Australian Film Institute (AFI for short) Awards), Australian actor Michael Caton paid tribute to Heath Ledger as his family accepted the award for his role in The Dark Knight as the Joker.

Heath Ledger Tribute

It's good to know that even after death, Heath Ledger is not forgotten, and he definetly deserves that tribute. :)

Congrats to him and his family.

This is welcome news, and not just because of his tragic death. He was a great actor, and even though I haven't seen it, I've heard nothing but great things about The Dark Knight, so he's well deserving of this.

In my mind, Heath Ledger could do no wrong, and it's wonderful to know that he's still on everyone's mind for his wonderful work, even after his death. :rose:

I do hope you're going to remedy that, what with The Dark Knight's impending DVD release :). The movie is more than worth the rental - or better yet, just go straight to buying it. I can completely assure you won't regret it.

Great news, it was certainly well-deserved. Heath clearly gave his all to that performance, and it really showcased the true extent of his talent, so it's a shame that it ended up having such tragic consequences for him.

TDK will blow your mind.

^ Agreed. I saw the Dark Knight about a month ago at the dollar theater and wow...just wow.
Everything I've heard about the movie itself and Heath Ledger's amazing performance as the Joker has been true. He did an incredible job and he definitely deserves this and his death really is a regrettable tragedy.

It sucks that Heath died in real life.

At the end of the movie he says something to Batman like "We'll be doing this forever". How ironic, in a sad way.

Okay, I was on IMDB to look up Breakdown (I'm reading through the whole Last Movie You Watched thread!) and I stumbled upon this great news! Heath just won his second posthumous award: a Golden Globe for The Dark Knight!

I feel like changing the title of this thread now. EDIT - Just did it!
