The Unicorns

Wow we don't have thread for the unicorns? I couldn't even find one on the old forum...

What were the names of the three tough unicorns? Joe was one I think. Frank was one, right? Lol I can't remember anymore.

I have to admit as a kid I liked unicorns. I even liked winged unicorns. I even liked white unicorns with rainbow manes. I can't believe I ever liked something like that! 8D Anyways now I can't stand it when people draw unicorns like ponies with horns stuck on, I don't think unicorns were ever meant to look that way. But little girls usually think of them like that, therefore that's why the imaginary ones do. I always wondered what would happen if a really classic, lion-tailed, medieval-type imaginary unicorn showed up at the House. Would the other unicorns resent it for not looking as girly as they do? ;)

Medieval likes these?

Yeah, they look nothing alike, I never thought of that. I loved unicorns, still do, as I love many mythical creatures including fearies and mermaids (do I really need to mention that? 8D). Now days I'm more into the legendary medieval ones rather than the girly pastel colored ones though.

We don't know Foster's unicorns too well, but I remember not all are rough and tough like "Frank, Joe and Phil" were. There were the ones in the pilot where Wilt is giving Mac and Bloo the tour of the house, and they seemed rather nice, especially the one that talked and said "Mmm, thanks Wilt!". So I can see some of the unicorns rejecting the medieval looking one, yet others like maybe that one that talked, accepting it and even trying to befriend it. The medieval one wouldn't take any offense by any rude comments. Yet I can also see it reserved, and not really wanting to be too friendly either. Maybe I've watched The Last Unicorn too many times, but I've always seen the medieval ones anxious and skittish. As if knowing they're needed for something very important, but they don't know what, when, where, or why.

And for the record, probably my favorite scene with the unicorns is when Mac and the other friends show up to rescue Bloo from the extremeasaur in the pilot. It was so dramatic. The unicorns helped save the day!

It shows the wonderful things one can do with ze Flash.

Oh yeah my favorite bit of Foster's imaginary equine related tomfoolery has to be in the episode "Seeing Red", where a certain one shot character found him self on the bad side of a certain girly looking horsey.

I don't know, that particular moment always bugged me. I mean, poor Red, all he did was dish out a few friendly compliments about the unicorns, and they rejected him so brusquely. They found him loud and annoying is the best reason I can think of, but my sympathy will always lie very firmly with Red.

I'd have to agree with you, particularly in light of the fact that Bloo set him up. :blooevil:

Added to which, it was the fatal blow of the unicorn that caused Red to destroy the flowers which clearly meant so much to him. :'(

Seeing the unicorns pick on Red was pretty saddening, all things considered. I thought it was funnier when, a little later on, Terrence managed to rile one up by calling it a "sissy horse".

You'd think he would've known better, after what happened to him at the end of House Of Bloo's. Guess he forgot. 8D :terrconf:

I can imagine the Unicorns can be nice and friendly, but I suppose it is the way you treat them. They have properly had to put up with prejudice.

I wonder who imagined them. Maybe little girls who didn't want them to have sissy personalities.

Terrence is afraid of the imaginary unicorns.

:P :P
