It's PBL's birthday, you say? Well then, happy birthday to you, PBL! :D

pitbulllady 07-30-2008 11:22 AM

Thank y'all! I needed that...feeling especially old and "worn out" today, and of course, have heard from only one family member, my aunt. I know I can at least count on y'all to acknowledge I'm still around.

Sparky, I'll let the mail/delivery person know, so if I'm not around, he can take the package to my next-door neighbor's house.

Wowser gee, happy birthday to ye! Go on and take that Stude for a big ol' drive.

Lynnie 07-30-2008 05:30 PM

Happy Birthday PBL! I agree with what Aero said, treat yourself to a ride in that grand Studebaker. :D

I wish I COULD have taken the Stude out for a drive, but we had some NASTY weather today-lightning, high winds(trees and large branches all over the place, in positions they should not be in), hail, as Bill Murray once put it, "real wrath-of-God-type stuff"! That, and temperatures more in keeping with the Seventh Level of Hell-it's almost midnight right now, and it's 90 degrees outside. They're forecasting 107 for tomorrow. I have to keep telling myself how much I love living in the South. I can't risk taking the Studebaker out and getting caught in a hailstorm, or having a big pecan tree blow over on it. If it gets messed up, or the windshield gets broken(it's got the original windshield, from the factory), it's not like I can just take it to any old garage and get it all fixed up within a few days, like you can do with a late model car. Finding replacement body parts for a '61 Cruiser is like finding D.B. Cooper! So, I had to settle for looking at it underneath the car shelter.

My aunt took me out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant, though, and gave me a new amber ring. I love amber, and collect amber jewelry, set in sterling silver-Celtic thing, I guess.
