American phone numbers
I need a bit of help...I have a relation who lives in Minneapolis, and she's given me a couple of phone numbers to contact her. However, I know this sounds silly, but I don't know how you put the US country code (+1, correct?) before the number. Over here, all UK phone numbers start with '0', and we simply replace the '0' with the UK country code (+44), but I don't know what you do with US numbers.

suppose her number is (829) 555-1234 where 829 is the minn. area code
you should dial, since you're in the UK right now: int'l code - destination country code - dest. area code - phone # 00-1- 829 - 555-1234 see here for more info: http://www.kropla.com/howtocall.htm |
