Also (besides the fact that I think we all knew about this but I could be wrong), you're not supposed to just start a topic and not discuss it yourself. It's lazy, and we are not a news forum. This is a discussion forum. So please discuss anything you start a thread for. Just giving us a link to something someone else wrote isn't good enough.

I've been following the digital transition since it was first announced nearly ten years ago. I have satellite, so I don't have to do anything when analog is shut off next February (I won't get the subcarrier channels offered by some stations, but that's minimal).

In reality, analog TV will end on February 17th of 2009.
