Wax On: Karate Kid Remake In The Works?
 

Hey there, Forgottenians, Monk here with some of the weirdest entertainment news you'll ever hear. Apparently a remake of the Karate Kid is in the works, and you won't believe who's doing it. Will Smith, the Fresh Prince himself, has been rumored to be developing the remake to star his 9 year old son.

Now if that doesn't make your head spin. I'm a fan of Will Smith, but I'm not ashamed to say that I hope this is just a rumor. Come on, Will you're better than that.

As much as I like Will Smith and some of his films, I'm going to consider skipping this remake, whether it is or isn't a rumor.

But that's just my honest opinion.

I really just got to ask "Why?". I love the Karate Kid movie but a remake is just so unnecessary.

Huh, I have a friend who will be ecstatic to hear this (if she hasn't already). She's a HUGE Karate Kid fan. So much so that a remake will look good to her. But I personally am not so sure a remake is the best thing. If it's true, though, good luck to Lil' Smith. He's bound to be a big actor like his daddy is. :)

I am so tired of remakes. They need to stop already. They need to come up with their own ideas.

I'm not opposed to remakes but the Karate Kid just sounds like it would be so dated. And while I have to admit that Smith's son is a very good actor for his age, I can't see the movie working unless they waited until he was at least 13. otherwise it would just be Daddy Daycare set in a martial arts club.
