Anticipated Movies of 2008

Cloverfield/ 1-18-08-Ever since I saw this trailer and the mystery behind it, I've been dying to know what kind of movie it is, including the plot (other than being a monster movie). Whatever it is, I hope its really good and lives up to the genre.

Indiana Jones IV-I never had the chance to see the first three Indy films, but with the fourth one coming out, I may have the chance to see one for the first time.

Sin City 2-Despite the fact that it never intended to came out this year, I hope that, in spite of the production delayment, the sequel to the sleeper hit would make a good impression in theaters.

Iron Man-Not use to the recent villainous Iron Man being played out in the current Marvel Comics, I prefer to see the Iron Man being what he was once known as: a hero.

Speed Racer-At first, I wasn't so sure about this movie, considered that some movies based on cartoons flop in theaters. But with Joel Silver as producer (including a great cast and a great rendition of the Mach 5), this is an exception.

Get Smart-The movie adaption of the well-known TV series looks very promising, and Steve Carrell could pull off a good performance as the goofball Agent 86.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor-I'm surprise that Universal was making this sequel to the Mummy Returns, but regardless, I'll give this film a chance when I have the time.

The Dark Knight-The sequel to the box office hit Batman Begins, the movie reunites most of the cast and the director, picking off from the ending. It would be no surprise if this film has the same success like its predecessor.

Bond 22-The untitle direct sequel to Casino Royale is a mystery, but regardless, another great Bond film to look forward to when it comes out.

The Incredible Hulk-I was surprise that not only Universal has been producing the sequel to the 2003's Hulk, but the cast and director has been replaced (Edward Norton will be Bruce Banner this time). However, I won't judge the film just yet, as I rather see it first.

Don't forget that it's written AND directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski!

Get Smart - After seeing the teaser trailer, I have a lot of hope for this movie. Steve Carell is going to rock and I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out!

Nim's Island - This is based on Australian author Wendy Orr's book about a girl who lives on an island with his father and makes friends with an author by e-mail. I love the book. It's currently being filmed in Queensland and I really can't wait to see this.

I am pretty sure this Hulk will be a seperate Hulk for the first film (to be like the real Hulk from the mythology of the Marvel Universe, not just based on the same idea), thus the change in cast and crew. Ed Norton rocks!

I'm really looking forward to Cloverfield. The teaser has me craving more info and I want to see what the monster looks like.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - Directed by my favorite director of all time (Tim Burton) and starring my two favorite actors of all time (Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter). Oh yeah...this is a must-see for me:P

And I guess I'm looking forward to Get Smart. I've never seen the original, but Steve Carrel is another favorite of mine, so I'll give it a shot8-)

Sweeney Todd has to be my favorite musical. I even have a quote from it in my signature. I really hope the movie is just as good. The casting is pretty much perfect. The only person I have trouble with is Johnny Depp.

Yeah, lots of people are a little iffy about Depp, because no one's ever heard him sing really. He was in a band some years ago, but he only did back-up vocals and the such. I really really hope that he surprises us and does an awesome job (especially since Sondheim isn't exactly easy stuff).

Harry Potter 6- It means we'll be closer to the (hopefully) amazing Potter 7.
Wall-E-What can I say....It's Pixar. Plus it's the last of Pixar's original ideas (The ideas the head guys cooked up in '94 which were A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Nemo & Wall-E)
Iron Man- From what I heard the teaser from Comic-Con was amazing. I'm hoping it's as good(or better) than S-M2.
Finally....

Indiana Jones IV- I can't be excited enough for this movie. I'm going opening day for once. Or atleast opening weekend. If you guys haven't seen the Indy movies your'e missing some of the biggest classics of all-time.
