Hairspray

Anyone here watched or at least know about this cult movie directed by John Waters, as well as the broadway adaption?

Just so you know, there's another Hairspray coming out this July, but based on the trailer, it seems to be based more on the musical than the 80's version.

In case you're really curious, here's the link to the 2007 movie trailer"

Well, that's all I have for now.

This really feels like a "subject-only" thread to me. Might you like to offer an opinion or start an actual discussion rather than simply saying "here it is"?

Alright, here's my thought about it:

While I have yet to see either the broadway or the cult classic, I do think it's quite good based on the preview, and I did saw one musical performance on TV at one time, which I admit was good.

Overall, I think Hairspray, in some ways, is original, in terms of the plot.

I saw the broadway show just a few weeks ago, actually. I'm a musical buff, so I loved it.

Believe it or not, Amanda Bynes is perfect for her character Penny (I saw Alexa Vega in that part).

However, I really am not a big Zac Efron fan (I saw Ashley Parker Angel in this part), so I'm going to be mixed about his portrayal of Link.

But it's great; my musical-hating father enjoyed it.
