are birthdays for your IF based on your own birthday ??

Well its based on whatever you had entered in when registering when they asked for your birthday. If you put in your true birthday, then yes your character will get a party on that date, if you remember to log in that day.

i didnt log in on my birthday and missed it and my birthday was on the 17th

and did you get any decorations for your room or a buddy for your birthday as a present from the game?

I really don't think there's any harm is saying this...but if you want, you can sign up for another account and put that your birthday is some upcoming day - then be sure to log in that day. At least you'll get to see what it looks like when its your birthday on there, even if its not your main player account. There's nothing on the site that prohibits multiple accounts, especially considering that as you do not enter in your email or anything there is no way for them to track who owns which accounts (this by the way is how they avoid dealing with the COPPA law, if you don't collect email accounts from persons under 13 COPPA can't touch you).

Press the "PrtSc" button on your keyboard, then go into a paint program of some kind and paste it as a new image.

I need to buy a paint thingy for Macs soon.:D

new macs should be able to run Linux version of a paint application.

Press apple-shift-3 to take a screenshot that should appear as a Preview pic on your desktop. From preview you can crop out the rest of the picture (select the part you want to keep then press apple-K).

I have no idea what i put for my birthday, i didn't think it would be useful to remember, boy was I wrong.
