Season 1 DVD Release.

Here it is, folks, along with what the DVD case should look like. Craig said it, and yes, he was right! :)

Imaginary Light 10-05-2006 12:13 PM

OMG AWESOME!

Character commentaries and never-before-seen footage?! OMG I NEED THIS DVD!

lucyrocks73 10-05-2006 12:34 PM

CHARACTER COMMENTARIES??

That rocks.

I think I know what I'm getting for Valentine's Day...

-Marty 8-)

Cassini90125 10-05-2006 01:14 PM

taranchula 10-05-2006 02:40 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Well this news has totally made my day.

Sparky 10-05-2006 02:58 PM

GREAT!! Ha ha Keith Fergusen probably had fun doing the commentaries. ;)

Anyways, is there still going to be a DVD with a few random eps or is this in lieu?

One Radical Dude 10-05-2006 03:00 PM

No other releases were mentioned, so I guess this would mark the very first Foster's DVD release. :)

kaytea 10-05-2006 03:02 PM

Omg words can not express how happy I am

Yeah well *I* get the Wilt movie for *my* birthday.

(My name is Cyndie, btw :) )

Voxxyn 10-05-2006 03:24 PM

Character commentaries was something I was hoping for the eventual DVD releases, so I have to offer this as reaction: WHOO-HOO!

I'll definitely be picking this up! :D

Emma 10-05-2006 03:42 PM

This is my birthday present, officially. Happy Valentines/Birthday to me! :D

Mr. Marshmallow 10-05-2006 04:39 PM

Very good to hear, a shame they couldn't get it out for Christmas, that would have made for a much better sale point. But it's a great step forward and I'm so happy to know i can finally own the show on DVD for once.

The character commentaries is definitely the most interesting aspect about the special features. Rarely any current seasonal DVDs have given out any worth wild special features, so this is a very nice and most welcomed surprise.

I honestly though am not sure how I feel about the cover. It's not bad, but it's nothing "impressive" either if you ask me.

BlooCheese 10-05-2006 04:55 PM

AT LAST! YES! I AM SO TOTALLY GOING TO BUY IT!
Good point, Mr. Marshmallow. It would've made a really good Christmas present, but I'm just glad they're actually being produced.
YEEEEES!

Thornwhistle 10-05-2006 04:56 PM

Wow,that is good news. Does it come with other languages? I would love to hear Wilt speak french.

One Radical Dude 10-05-2006 04:59 PM

It doesn't mention anything about other language tracks. I'm not expecting that for the release, though it would be a nice bonus.

Bloo2daMacs 10-05-2006 06:04 PM

HOLY SNOT!! I SO can't wait for this to come out.

and it comes out three days before my b-day too, so i'll be buying that as a birthday present to me.

billytheskink 10-05-2006 08:18 PM

It's on my list. Can't wait.

scary_dream 10-05-2006 09:13 PM

EEEE must have, must have MUST HAVE!

Now we'll have something to eagerly await AFTER November 24th :D

Amritama 10-05-2006 11:11 PM

Yay, a Foster's DVD set! Yet another thing for me to add on my wishlist.

The extras look pretty promising (especially the commentaries), but I'm more interested in the content. Still, it's nice to see the DVD set will have extra things, and that the episodes are being released in a season set instead of separate DVDs.

To sum up my rambling, I'm excited about the release, and I can't wait to February (well, maybe I can, but that's not the point)!

Mac Daddy 10-06-2006 09:56 PM

Hey Guys,

That's not the actual cover, that's just a temporary one. We're still working on the final one, in fact I just turned in my drawing for it last week.

Talk to you later,

Craig

vinny 10-06-2006 10:31 PM

i cant wait

Hey, Craig! Thank you for clearing that up for us. We cannot wait to see the finalized version of the DVD cover. :)

Sparky 10-06-2006 11:03 PM

Oh okay, cool. Yay that you designed it. :)

Invader Bloo 10-07-2006 05:54 AM

Yay! Must..... need..... DVD!.....:D

taranchula 10-07-2006 07:46 AM

Cool beans, of course I would certainly buy the DVD regardless of what the cover looks like, because we all know the real goodness is contained on those two little disks packaged within.

Scribble 10-07-2006 07:48 AM

I am really excited about this, but without a multi-regional DVD player I'm going to be a bit stuck unless it comes out in the UK. :/

hey craig =)

and sweet I can't wait too see the finished cover

kageri 10-07-2006 10:15 AM

There are no words with which I can express how stoked I am to hear commentaries by the characters. That is, officially, the greatest idea ever. I also really really hope that "never-before-seen footage" involves us getting to see the actors doing their jobs.

And Craig is/was here! It's my lucky day!

Invader Bloo 10-07-2006 12:50 PM

The "Ren & Stimpy" DVDs did it first. Cool idea though.

YuckieDuck 10-07-2006 12:55 PM

Never-before-seen footage! I'll definitely buy this DVD! :D

The King of The Hill DVD's did it too for the first couple of season sets, and even though it's not animation, the movie "This is Spinal Tap" had a hilarious
in-character commentary track.

I think the Foster's commentraies will work due to the strong cast, after all Tom Kenny, Phil Lamarr, Grey DeLislie, Tom Kane, Tara Strong and Candi Milo are Voice over/comedy ventrans so they certainly know how to improv, and once Keith Furguson gets into the character of Bloo he can even just read out of a phone book and still make it sound funny*, and of course Sean Maquette being the other corner stone of this program has proven time and time again he can bring the funny.

(*Now that I think about it, I would pay good money to see 22 minuets of Bloo reading names out of a telephone book.)

Medikor 10-07-2006 01:47 PM

The only down side to this is that February is a long ways away.:( Other then that, I'm am danceing on my head. I'm so excited! Now I'll be able to show my mom the great episodes she always misses (She likes the show but would NEVER admit it8D ) and why the show is an emmy winning one.:D

Invader Bloo 10-07-2006 01:49 PM

Oh yeah, Brother Baer did it too. I forgot.

kaytea 10-07-2006 03:18 PM

im counting the days

Nyo 10-07-2006 04:30 PM

OMFGBBQ.

I'll ask my mom if I can buy it (with my money).

Invader Bloo 10-07-2006 05:02 PM

It's your money. Why can't you? Not that excited since season 1 is my least favorite (still Red's in it! Is he or is thats eason 2? ;D ) I'll be more excited with season 2. "Hi doggies!: :D

Nyo 10-07-2006 06:19 PM

I'm buying with my money 'cause I don't need my mom nagging me about buying a cartoon DVD with her money. I bet she'll be like, "What happens if you don't like the cartoon anymore? It's going to waste my money."

Voxxyn 10-07-2006 06:43 PM

I'm hoping for the character commentaries to last into the sets for the other DVDs... and, of course(I promise I won't freak out about it again, but...), I also really hope it won't be a "Foster's Five"-exclusive affair, and that Frankie, Madame Foster, Mr. Herriman will get involved.
