Cartoon Network City Look Bumpers!
I don't know about you, but I love the city look CN Bumpers. So much detail has gone into them. And I enjoy looking for cartoons in corners etc etc. And the CG is great!!
As A kid I always imagined the cartoons living in a city. CN Has heeded my call, It's great. Do you guys like them aswell? :bloogrin Oh and want to watch a few. Heres my collection on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=FostersFriend |
They're definitely impressive, probably the best packaging I've seen from any network out there. In recent months in the US (especially in September), however, they've showed less and less cityscape bumpers, and more of the red background stuff (recently, it's more of the red with clouds and droplets. They did release a new garage sale bumper (I think it's a 30 second one) in the format of the city look, featuring different Cartoon Network characters interacting. It tookplace outside of the front of the Foster's mansion. Though I'm not betting on it, hopefully, they will keep showing more city stuff for a while.

It's a shame Cartoon Network never really "expanded" on this idea and make a TV special or episode out of all this. Crossovers are BIG attention getters, even if they are all just characters owned by the same single company. It's worth seeing and I wish they would try an idea like that.
I always liked the "bumper shorts" that involved mixing of the characters like Kaz from Ami Yumi meeting Juniper Lee. Or the Dog from Juniper Lee asking Velma from Scooby Doo and Mandy from Billy and Mandy if they needed anymore sunscreen and stuff like that. I think they could have a gold mine with stuff like that. My favorite one is easily the most amusing "team ups". It's Raven from Teen Titans and Mandy sitting on a train and just being absolutely quiet and monotone as usual: Mandy: Nice talking to you. Raven: Whatever. ;D I don't even like Billy/Mandy and I can totally appreciate the humor in that. |
I agree very much with Mr. Marshmellow on this. And I strongly believe that they should bring back the old Fridays format, which had the Cartoon Cartoon stars interacting with one another. I got chills watching those segments when I was younger.

Frankly I was shocked they did anything of the sort in the first place. Any kind of probing of crossovers is more then likely to raise a few eyebrows. It's a shame they don't do it because having a single company that owns a variety of cartoon characters is the only legally clean way they could make a decent crossover. Too many companies, sub-companies and legal crap tape prevent any solid interaction these days. Though brief, these bumpers least gave us a taste. |
Thanks ORD for uploading the hardly seen yard sale bumper on youtube. Thanks! :bloogrin

I would love a cross-over of all of my fave CN shows (Eds,Foster,B/M,CL,GPAM,SB,etc...). Who are the singers in "Friday's"? Does CN pick people off the street & say "You wanna sing?" these people suck!::)

Crossovers are kinda weird. Ever hear of the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour, and it's 2 sequels? They weren't so bad (but the 3rd one sucked out loud), but like Rukift said on the TV.com Foster's forum on a thread about crossovers, "Those movies are OK, but they are a bit too WTF? for my tastes." |
Crossovers are amazing when done properly. The problem as I said before, is the copyrights issue which is the only thing that holds future crossovers from happening. Simpsons did it with the Critic, Dragon Ball Z did it with Sailor Moon (except it was porn).
Probably the best examples of crossovers ever were The Jetsons meets the Flintstones and of course, "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?". Rodger rabbit had an ass load of cartoon stars from multiple companies and it's only because the movie was such an landmark in special effects, that the other companies did it. It also helped that it was taken good care of by top notch actors, writers, and director, Robert Zemeckis. The only other big crossover that happened was the "All star cartoon heroes to the rescue special" which had Garfield, ALF, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Winnie the Pooh, and more help this kid get off drugs. The only reason the voice actors and companies agreed to do this was because of it's obvious positive message influence to kids, and the fact that George Bush (senior) pretty paid for the special to be made. With people as anal and over protective as they are today, i doubt anyone will ever let another crossover cross our paths. |
Yeah but the CN shows are in the same channel ala FOP & JN.

:wiltshock:
Oh man...that theme park one is freaking awesome! I know I sound like a crazy idiot (just like Eduardo's card says heh) but I LOVE that bumper. I want to see it SOOO badly. That is a quality crossover piece, and fine animation for the park itself and all the characters. I think that is easily their best one ever. Of course, seeing Juniper Lee look like Madonna is a tough competitor 8D. |

I want to see the theme park bumper! :)
The :bloogrin /:-/ one looks funny. |
I know that in the fanfic world, Danny Phantom is a popular thing to crossover with Foster's.
Now we all know that it can't happen because they are on diffrent networks. Most of the fics are average and not planned very well. But there is the occasionally good fic that makes you wonder what would really happen if Craig and Butch got together and decided to crossover the two. Just a fun thing here- what if Craig crossed the PPGs and Foster's together? Well, we've seen Mojo in the pilot, but hey, it would be interesting. -Marty :goo: |
Hey guys. Does anyone perhaps know where I could get that bumper of Frankie Parking the fosters bus?
Heres the youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2B6iaZhvsE Thanks guys for any help, much appreciated :bloogrin |
The best thing about it is that it was animated by an Australian studio! They are known as Animal Logic, who also did the animation for Happy Feet!!! :D I could not be any prouder!
|
This is probably the best bumper I've seen. Not because it stars sweet and loveable Frankie  although it is a plus, but it had some REALLY good solid crossover interaction, even if it was just behind the wheel of a bus.
I love these things and I really wanna see that amusement park one. The best part was EASILY the Creeper, all he said was "creeper" and flung his hands up and it was just a great reaction to such a weird sight. I sadly haven't seen any of these bumpers on CN for months except through youtube, hopefully these and that kick ass amusement park one I saw pics for will be aired either on here or where they BELONG, back on Cartoon Network. |
Yeah I'll soon enough post the amusement park bumper on yotube. :bloogrin

The CN bumpers in RPGMaker 2003
ALL of the 3D CGI city bumpers on Cartoon Network are my favorites! I am trying to make a Foster's RPG on RPGMaker 2003, and I want somebody to make the CN City bumpers look like battle backgrounds, also I am looking for battle sprites for All of the Foster's characters, plus map sprites, such as the characters walking, and I need building chipsets as well. Can someone help me out on this development project? Thank you!
