Wilt and Frankie mystery revealed

It was brought to my attention that a potential controversy was a-brewin' over a screen grab from one of the final episodes. Apparently, this screen-grab showed a framed picture of Frankie hugging Wilt. Craig and I actually weren't all that aware of it, as we don't carefully scrutinize the small details of Backgrounds---- but even if Craig HAD noticed it, he would not have seen reason to change it.

In any case, for those who were wondering, it depicts a perfectly innocent hug between the two characters. As the head writer of Foster's I'd like to just clear up that there is absolutely no romantic relationship between Wilt and Frankie.

Still, this is merely the intent behind the show, and I would never want to dictate to anyone what they'd like to take out of stories for themselves. If it entertains you to believe these characters are romantically involved, please go for it.

I just thought I'd share the official intent of those of us who write these characters and stories.

Enjoy the final eps-- sure hope you like the way we wrapped things up.

Thank you for clearing that up once and for all.

And yes, I've definitely been enjoying the final episodes. Thanks for six wonderful seasons!

While watching, I didn't even notice the scene. Hehe, go figure.

Thanks for clearing it up, Lauren!

Thank you Lauren! It's great to have a confirmation concerning those two.

And thank you and Craig from the bottom of our hearts for five great years. They've left an impact on each of our lives. We'll miss the show dearly, but you'll still have our full support on other projects. We love you guys! :)

Cool of you that you took time out of your most likely busy day, to come and visit us again.

Yeah I could never think of anything of such nature to be more then what it appears to be.

Thanks Lauren! While I personally never saw anything to suggest that those two were a romantic item (what can I say, I seldom watch shows through shipping goggles), it's still a great relief to have that proverbial balloon popped once and for all. :balloons:

(Needless to say, the "best wishes" alluded to in my smilie are for you Lauren, to the legacy of Foster's, and to the future...even if it does feel rather big and empty without Foster's right now.)

What episode was this in?

Sparky 05-11-2009 03:25 PM

I finally found this, it's in Bad Dare Day. It's when Mac is sneaking into Madame Foster's room to steal her dentures. There's a bunch of framed pictures on Madame Foster's dresser. The one in question is on the left and is only seen *after* the close-up when we pull back, for like, a second. :/ I just took the grab. When I post them all I'll come back here and give a link.

the thing is, wilts been one of the longest staying friends at fosters. he's probs known frankie since she was a tiny kid. so childhood friends is more likely than a romantic couple.

In which case he'd be far more likely to think of her as a daughter, as I noted in Frankie's bio in the Sims thread.

Of course not. Frankie's a human and Wilt is an imaginary friend. Why would they have a romantic relationship? BUT, also, there is actully some videos on YouTube with Wilt and Frankie together, but that's their imagination.

It seems odd to me that somebody would jump to such a big, that Wilt and Frankie are in love with each other, just juding form this :terrconf:
It seems perfectly obvous to me that it is just a friendly hug
