"Fools And Regulations": the second-to-last episode
This one's airing right now; there's a commercial break so I rushed in here to announce:
Frankie is wearing her little black dress!!! Pretty funny so far; better than the last two. |
So far, it's been a good episode. Very funny.
|
Very funny indeed. Bloo is on a roll today. Another A+!
|
This was probably the least favorite of the Last Five. It wasn't bad, but some of the characters were a bit OOC, especially Wilt. He's not usually a trouble-maker, so I have to wonder why he was banned from the first floor. I'd have expected him, rather than the Unknown Imaginary Friend, to have been allowed to mingle with the very-important guests, but that's just my thoughts on the matter. He's usually the voice of reason and maturity, but he seemed sorta childish in this one.
Kinda of a nice touch, though, with Terrence(even though we don't actually see him in this episode)letting Mac borrow his games, even if it was to bribe Mac into not snitching on him causing a fire! Goes to show that he's not totally evil or stupid! pitbulllady |
Funny indeed.
|
Bloo's little smartass antics had me laughing this whole episode. Loved it!
|
Wow, this one was funny. SO MUCH FUNNINESS.
"Grown-ups only"? But aren't some of the IFs adult in age? Or somewhere close? Hmm... I LOVED how they had to "try out" the upstairs and outside. Even though choosing a place to go, they go into great lengths to change it. 8D WILT'S BOARD GAME IS MADE OF ROFL. ...And win. Oh, and the swinging on the tree? Made of aww.:D I found it amusing that when the gang accidentally made a fire in their room, Mac tells a similar story involving an accidental fire. :bloocross: THE PEANUTS REFERENCE. LOL. "Of COURSE it's going to hurt! It's FOOTBALL!" 8D And a good ending with loads of CASH :D Overall, 5/5. :D |
Very good episode. Thought it was kinda funny how some of the friends (well, Wilt) would be over "adult" age, yet he had to stay out of the house. 8D
Peanuts reference ftw. 10/10 stars. |
This was probably my personal favorite for funniest episode out of the final 5 I mean, it was just one hilarious gag after another. Bloo's wacky flip flopping was great and it was SO nice to see Frankie in that SMOKING out black dress again.
MANY thanks Lauren for granting us that little gem again. I loved Bloo's line: "I had to close the window, the outside is mocking me" 8D I could not stop laughing from that one! Plus, what better way to satisfy my Frankie feelings then having a couple of rich millionaires give Frankie financial and verbal acknowledgment of the crap she puts up around Fosters. BOO YAH, GREAT EPISODE! |

This was probably the least favorite of mine, but it still gets an A, in my opinion. Still, having five eps that I give at least an A- is nothing to moan about. :) Really loved the Peanuts reference with Mac and Wilt. 8D It was also good to know that Terrence was mentioned by name, even though he did not appear on this episode. Definitely not forgotten. |
2'nd to last, is 2'nd to none in the insanity department.
(Yay the last two episodes have hit my favorite Torrent site!)
Ah this had all the hallmarks of the your classic Tim M penned episode, start up real slow built a head full of steam and let loose with the insanity that by act 3 everything comes so unglued one cannot help but laugh. Random Thoughts and such... Another Mac = Charlie Brown reference is always a good thing, but I don't anyone would have expected Wilt in the role of Lucy Van Pelt. Well if the whole fund raising thing didn't work the way Frankie was dressed she could have got a job out in Branson in a Hee Haw revival show. I loved the bored game it looked like someone cross bred Trouble and Perfection. I've always been a big fan of awkward stalling the crowd scenes, I loved the wacky theories that Wilt and Mac came up with. "You're here to hold your prom at Foster's? You're all here to marry Frankie, and (Referring to the ladies present) You're all the wives and daughters?" A all the way for this one. |

Yeah I don't know of any way to get into that site. :/ I had a membership a long time ago when anyone could register but it got deleted or something.
Could this discussion please be moved to the Episodes on Computer thread though? It doesn't belong in an episode discussion thread. Thanks. |
You had to wait until the last episode to see him...
|
I don't feel like writing up a big review right now, but this episode was great =D. And.. this is probably just me, but the mention of Terrence reminded me of a part of Cassini's Foster's Valley XD. Probably only a coincedence, but still.
|
I laughed at seeing Wilt's eye pop up out of the huddle.
Oooh, elegant! I'd love to go to that party. It looks like a gala more than a normal party. Just my thing. :mfoster: Does Coco always read books upside down? And where are the rest of the friends? Are they really being so good and quiet up in their rooms? Haha, Wilt thinks the bird could be a doctor. 8D Ah, total Charlie Brown reference. That is so not like Wilt, to be like Lucy and keeping pulling the "ball" away. Although once Bloo was flying through the house I couldn't help but laugh. How nice of Bloo to be sure Frankie has a cushy spot to fall when he pushes her ladder down. I'm proud of you Bloo, nice thinking. Yup, nice going Bloo. Thanks to you, Foster's is rich, and all those friends will be taken well care of for years to come. At least until we see an encore movie in a few years (I hope). This was full of action and humor, I liked it. And the ending was unexpected, after "FGtE" or "MSCW". It was an awesome ending, it made me happy. Another fun episode, a few loose ends, but the ending made it all worth while. :) |
"Of course it's going to hurt! It's FOOTBALL!" 8D
|
Well I've been waiting for someone else to bring this up, because I know I'm not the only one who noticed it...but since I'm doing the screencaps now...
The book Coco is reading upside down? It says "Wiccan Power" on it. I was frankly shocked to see witchcraft brought up in an episode (I used to be Wiccan myself before I went agnostic). Has anyone else seen Wicca referenced in other cartoons? Because I would think that parents would throw fits about it. I mean Harry Potter is one thing, but Wicca is a real, magic-based religion. |
I saw it but didn't think anything of it at the time. I can imagine some groups getting all upset over it, though. I'm surprised the censors didn't spot it; we should pay extra attention to future reruns (whenever that happens) to see if it gets edited out.
Edit - Wicca was referenced in Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost, way back in October of 1999. |
I don't think it'd make much of a fuss. I mean, what 6-11 year old knows/cares what wicca/n is? Just sayin.
|
...You obviously don't pay a lot of attention to the childrens' entertainment news. :/ Believe me, parents go nuts over the teeniest things sometimes.
|
I saw it the first time too! My ex-gf (now room mate) noticed it first; the funny part is she despises Fosters. By the way, she does have spell books and such. She practices it, much to my chagrin.:wiltshock:
|
I remember noticing Coco reading a book upside down and snickering at that alone. I never bothered to read what the cover said though. I'm wanting to see it again now.
I personally don't see it as an issue, but oh yeah, some people will get totally irrational over what most everyone else may see as something stupid. To me, I see it as a simple nod to the latest "darker" trends, including perhaps Harry Potter. |
I would totally pity anyone who would get offended over a five second background throw away gag.
I mean next thing you know they'll playing every line of Coco's dialogue backwards listening for hidden messages? :jk: |
When it airs over here I'll look out for that and see if they edit it out (they edited Destination Imagination over here, after all). That's interesting.. in this day and age, a cartoon referencing religion is.. unusual.

Apparently, since that's what they edited out. They did an okay job (they didn't just mute it or freeze the scene), but you can tell it was edited >_>. I'd upload it to Megaupload, but I don't know how to get it off my DVD. But yeah, I think it was a silly edit too >_>.

...What are YOU taking about? It's not like the "wiccan" book was a major thing in the show. Besides, Foster's is over with. I don't think parents would raise a fuss over a show, especially not an episode that'll likely not air m/any times again. |
*sigh* I'm sorry I upset you with my observation. I know of examples of parents freaking out over things in cartoons so miniscule you wouldn't even notice it with your naked eye, but it would be off-topic at this point. So just forget it. :jk:

I've been a little too rushed lately to write anything really long this last week, but I saw this episode for the first time about nine days ago now- what a hoot!
I had seen the first scene (up to the point with the fire/kicking out), and, whilst poking around on youtube, I saw an image of Wilt and Mac standing in the main hall, under this episodes name. From this, I predicted that the rest of the episode would be about the gang constantly pestering Frankie and getting her very stressed, then at the end they all get in and make some big slushy speech to the guests as to why Fosters deserves all the donations (if you can imagine that)- like I said, that was a prediction- something predictable! Would we be happy with that fairly cliched ending?! I was happy with the way this episode turned out, and I especially liked Coco's idea for riding a unicycle across a wire! Plenty of old fashioned cartoon physics here! This was a fairly typical Fosters episode (I don't mean that in a bad way), and, being the last but one episode, I'm assuming this is like a one more ride sort of thing with these characters (stressed Frankie, mind-changing Wilt sensible Mac etc.) Some of my observations- where did that straw hat/dungarees outfit Frankie was wearing come from? What happened to her dress? Also, was it just me, or did Wilt seem a bit dopier in this episode? Nice to hear about Terrance again, he had a few roles in the first two seasons and some in season three, but since then hadn't been mentioned again (correct?). I liked how Mac said he stared a fire as if that's such an absurd thing to do by accident (unaware of what just happened in the room!) |

http://www.fosters-home.com/screengrabs/6/612-0096.jpg It was used to distract Bloo and co. while Frankie attempted to get back in the house. |

A. It is post-GWH, after all... It might've been another, funnier side we've yet to see. B. the writer(s) of the episode seemed to characterize him differently, with mixed results. or C. Eh, whatever. At least he was there the whole episode. |
Well, I say that because he tries talking to a bird, and what to address it. Brilliant, of course, but Wilt seems a bit dopey to me for trying to reason with an animal. Still, perhaps that is more an example of his overwhelming politness :D
|
The first time I saw this, I reconed there would be a twist at the end where all the money raised would have to repair all the damage the gang did to the house!
|
I LOVED the Peanuts reference with the whole kick-Bloo scene! :D
|
I missed this show.
|
The episode is hilarious. I love Bloo's scream, especially when he's flying through the house with the video game 8D
|
An F. I didn't like this episode. :edmad:
