WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with the History Secretary, and definitely, for-sure I am going to complete my Masters Degree this semester! Best-case, I just do my thesis. Worst-case, I do my thesis and one 400-level elective.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Been working at this thing since 2005. So, provided I don't die before May, I'll have an MA!

Pawbah 01-22-2009 03:23 PM

Well congratulations!

Sparky 01-22-2009 03:43 PM

YAY. :yeah:

I've thought about going back for my Masters, I could do it here at Sac State. Maybe some day.

Lynnie 01-22-2009 03:48 PM

That's awesome, Rid, Congrats!  It'll be nice to have it done and over with, huh?

I have about three years of college under my belt, but no degree. Got in debt, and I'm scared to go back. :P Maybe one day when I have more financial stability, and courage, I'll go back and get some type of degree.

Mac-a-lacka 01-22-2009 04:02 PM

Am I to guess the italics indicate what you've already done? ;) I still think that's all great. As for the non-italicized, they'll happen for you someday. Including maybe the last one, keep trying. :bendy:

it's a pity that this forum doesn't support the [s][/s] strikethrough option.

It does, it's the http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/im...ikethrough.gif symbol next to the spoiler tag.

Like this.

Fixed!

Ridureyu 01-27-2009 04:57 PM

Update!

There was a slipup in my paperwork, and I DO have to take an elective course. However, the professor who agreed to chair my thesis just gave me an in to an undergrad-level elective that ties into my thesis. I'm looking at a summer graduation!

Lynnie 01-27-2009 05:03 PM

Well that's a bit of a bummer, I'm sorry. I'm glad to hear it's still happening though, and without too much inconvenience. Way to go, Rid!

One Radical Dude 02-05-2009 01:10 AM

Summer still doesn't sound too bad. Any idea of when the graduation is?

BluebottleFlyer 02-05-2009 09:19 AM

Many congrats to you there Rid, depsite the slight slip-up. As the well-repeated saying goes, "It's about time!" :)

Ridureyu 02-14-2009 02:31 PM

Well, by the time Iw as able to enroll for a new class, all the classes were full. My thesis committee chair gave me an in to one of his classes that will directly help my thesis, which is good...

...But in all of this, I missed the window to pay for tuition in installments. Thus, I had to get the money out of my savings. Because it's a different bank, they sent a check, and I spent about a week attending classes without being officially enrolled. I finally made it in with three days to spare.

YAY
