Next Beta: Dec 5-7
 

The next public beta of FusionFall will be from December 5-7. I went ahead and created this section of the forum early so search engines can find and index it, so that during the beta if people Google for info maybe they'll find us.

My main questions about the next beta are 1) will our characters be in the same places (if they aren't wiped out, anyways) and 2) will my character FINALLY have her name yet?? :wiltshock: Lol.

Let's hope the answer to both questions will be "yes".

Just under two more days left until the second beta.

I'm going to try to play as much as possible, but I have a doctor's appointment Friday and we may go out shopping for a new HDTV and stand on Saturday, not sure. But if we do then I will be quite busy that day.

It may not be up until the afternoon hours. Just like FusionFall may not necessarily end at 12am Monday morning.

Looks like its up now. However I won't be able to play until later this afternoon as I have errands to run and a doctor's appointment. :P

Edit: Ok, I'm in, but when I requested a name, the game window faded, then nothing happened, and it's been stuck like that since :macwor:

I got in three times, only to get an error message saying that not all of the files were able to load (that lead to me being booted off the game). This is probably the worst time to beta test FF. It should get easier to log in later on.

I'm trying again, this time I'll just generate a name if it asks me again

EDIT: Now I just have to wait for the really long loading screen to go again ::)

EDIT: Yes, I know, another edit, it's just I'm bored of the loading and I have to go soon :'(. I haven't even played the gaem before

They're performing maintenance right now. My profile is gone the last time I logged in. I'm hoping it's a temporary issue, and that I can resume my play soon.

Who freaking puts a "in beta" game under maintenance on the day it's supposed to start the "Sneak Peek" weekend?

And this is my first actual time being able to play this time, only to find out "Nope we're doing maintenance lolololol"...kinda disappointing.

That's why it's called a beta. :P I'm guessing that traffic was really high, when the game opened up. Things should get better soon. We'll see.

I just got in. My character is still there, but she's still called "Player 103533". :P

I have to start dinner soon so I'll be idle then I guess.

Oh my goodness...this wait is terrible. This game has been loading for over two hours now and I'm STILL not in yet... Yes, I've gotten past to the part where you choose your character, but since then, "loading"...it's driving me up the wall so much right now I'm literally banging my head on the desk. I even had no choice but to whine "COME OOOOOOOOOON" like Bloo did....:(

To me, THIS is the worst torture experience ever...and I'm still facing it. Not only when it finally DOES finish loading, I'd still have to wait FOREVER for the screen to show, AND function well enough so I can tell the difference between gameplay and a slideshow...ESPECIALLY long enough so I can LOWER THE GRAPHICS QUALITY so it'd stop doing it so often...

Right now I feel like I'm playing "The Waiting Game" Than playing "FusionFall"...:(

I actually did get in earlier without a problem but then I had to go make dinner like I said and the game timed me out. Meaning that when I tried to get back in I got the "ID already in use" error I had to deal with last time, and I had to submit a support ticket. Still waiting on that.

...And as it screwed up my computer, making it super slow (it took almost an hour to get here to type in my last message) so I gave up. I just couldn't stand the wait anymore...

What was really pathetic of the situation was that I wasn't using any other program that I would have to attend to, either.

I wasted three hours for something that didn't/wouldn't/couldn't finish loading. I'm sad now. :(

Okay, my profile is gone. Darn it! I'm gonna have to start over again. :'( I'm going to wait a little bit and see if anything can be done. Otherwise, I guess I have no choice.

Their reply to my support ticket this time was to just say "everyone is having problems right now, try again later" which won't do me any good if I really do need my account reset.

When I *did* get in before my character was still there. I hope she's still there when and if I ever do get back in.

I'm glad I have two computers; I play the game on a different computer I do most stuff on so I'm not tying up my "main" computer.

Okay, lol, it's back. 8D Now, to worry about playing the game.

My character was there still too, but the main loading itself is what messed up my computer and wore out my patience. Having to wait three and more hours for a game to load while making your computer so slow so you can't do anything to occupy your time plus not knowing what to do to cure the boredom just doesn't...you know.

"Everyone" having problems? Try again later? Lazy *muttering*...Yeah. "Try again later". Best advice ever. ::)

Looks like I am finally getting in, and my new name has been approved: "Sparky Neitherworld". I figured that would be easy to remember. What's everyone else's names again?

edit: Something weird happened! I got a pop-up that said "Network Close" and now all the monsters and other players are gone, as well as the NPCs. It's really creepy. o_o I bet I have to exit and re-load the game to fix it. :P

I plan on playing the hell out of the beta myself. And I don't consider it a waste of my time.

Sounds more like you're trying to piss people off more than helping, if you ask me. I believe people have the right to milk as much out of the game as possible. Besides, I don't expect any of us to beat this game before the second beta ends. The FusionFall world is very large.

I disagree, I certainly don't think he was trying to tick anyone off. But it was kind of an unhelpful thing to say, that's all.

Well I finally got Nano Wilt, I'm quitting for tonight. Don't know how much I'll be on tomorrow. :terrsmile: Er...today. It's past midnight already.

If I had my own computer I'd try the beta, but unfortunately I don't. Oh well. Hope those who are playing the beta are enjoying it, the game looks good so far.

Unless the game's "file" size goes way down, (Total lie when it said that it'll take approximately 3-20 minutes to finish "loading"...it took me about 3+ HOURS) servers are added, and glitches are fixed, I don't think I can stand another attempt to even try this game anymore. I have wasted hour after hour after hour to make sense of this game, but epically failed.

It lagged too long and all it'll do is lag lag lag, even if I go through the pain and suffering of lowering the graphics quality (lag lag lag just to get that done) and even if I do that, it still lags like UGHHH.

Numerous occasions glitches occurred, one where when you select your character and I click "Enter the Game" then it doesn't do anything after that, just trap you there, no buttons to click. Nothing. Even after a while the lag stops altogether and is smooth as if this was the first real program you EVER downloaded/installed/etc or have a really awesome computer...yet nothing was there to click on, as all the buttons were all transparent.

Another was the same thing. I actually was able to get into my items and as I casually tried to "open" an item that was in a crate, the same thing happened like in the character selection screen. The only way out of there was out of the game.

ANOTHER GLITCH was where I accidentally "made" two new characters and so I tried to delete them, but after a "Network close" error I couldn't until I tried to get in again. All of these glitches and just plain "won't load" crap caused me to either exit out or RESTART THE COMPUTER. I think I literally lost count of how many times I had to do both of these above.

Servers? Pretty please?

I'm dead serious when I say this, (and am feeling very irritable at the moment, I apologize) if I have to go through another attempt, I'll go insane because it won't be worth it for me. This game was NOT meant for my computer. At least now; in the last beta date none of this happened. Ever. Now it is like crazy.

I'm gonna go and try to cool down now...I just had to let this out somehow...But I'm so glad that I think there were similar problems and not many people are able to get past these either...To know that I'm not alone. :(

It might help to remember that the game doesn’t get “downloaded” to your computer, per se. The only way to improve load times is to make sure that your web browser is set up to allow a large file cache and you should also make sure that you toggle it to never delete your file cache unless you instruct it to do so. When you play FusionFall, the game itself goes to your Temporary Internet Files, which allows the game to load much faster the next time you play. However, it only helps if you allow it to store a lot of data and you keep it on your computer. Otherwise, you’ll have to load the entire game each time you play.

So how would I be able to do that on Firefox? I've looked on the thing and don't really see anything that has to do with it...

I also had an extra character created back when I first started playing somehow, and I can't delete him because the game asks for his first name but I never named him so I can't give his first name, lol. So I have a spare character which I assume won't matter in the long run.

Back on the last beta I was playing fine until I went to the Past, whereupon I had so many problems I had to give up. Between betas I updated my video driver, and now I have no problems so I don't know if that was it or not.

There's also something new on this beta, those two small white loading bars on the right side of the screen when you first get in. I was sitting on the Loading screen for hours before realising that if I did NOT see those two white bars that the game was not truly loading, and to close it and try again until I did get the white bars. I get in every time as long as the white bars are present.

(Just throwing some info out there for people who are hopefully finding us in web searches when looking for help, no one else seems to have a fansite out there with info on it.)

I'm at level 8 now, and I've added Numbuh Five to the list of Nanos. It's been an easier day for me on FF than on Friday. My only complaint is that the audio gets cut off, whenever I perform a move randomly. I wouldn't be able to hear any audio until I completely exit the game. That happened to me during the first beta, also.

Up to Level 10. I received Megas from Megas XLR not too long ago. Things are going okay with me right now. Last night limited to what I could do. No one could use the warp. That issue, however, has been resolved.

I guess I'll post my first image of what my character looks like (it will probably change again at some point, but this is me at Lv. 10), along with another Nano.

I haven’t used Mozilla Firefox since Google Chrome came out, but it should be somewhere in your browser’s preferences menu. By default, Mozilla Firefox only allows you to store 50 MB in your file cache, which includes normal browsing in addition to playing FusionFall. Depending on how large your hard drive is, you’ll want to increase that number to a certain amount. I have a large hard drive so I set it up to 1,000 MB. Each time I played the game, barring an update that I needed to download, I went right into the game and passed up the loading screens.

Of course, you'll also need to make sure that your browser isn't set to delete your file cache upon closing the browser. I'm not sure where you can figure that out, but it should also be in the browser's configurations menu.
