A question on "I only have a surprise for you"

I'm aware of Bloo and a group of kids humiliating Mac in this picture... :P

...but I never noticed that Terrence and Mac's Mom were in on it too. :o :terrconf:
I would've thought that Mac's Mom wouldn't allow such a thing but I was proven wrong.

Of course it has been awhile since I've seen this episode. :(

Uh, dude... what's your question? The thread title suggests that you have a question. :terrconf:

Mac-a-lacka 07-15-2008 07:49 PM

Oops. It was something I "noticed".

I put the title in wrong. :-[
Really embarrassing.

Yeah, I remember being delighted to catch a glimpse of "Mom" and Terrence, too when I first saw them. And that "Mom's" face is conveniently hidden behind a package. It may be the most of her we've seen so far, though. I though it was interesting. :)

BTW, the title of this episode is "I Only Have Surprise For You." The title you listed there, Mack-a-Lacka my friend, was from TV Guide. Hence, there is no "a" between "Have" and "Surprise".

...Which Mac-a-lacka admitted in post #3. You didn't need to rub it in. :/ Only staff can change a thread title, and he didn't ask us to, so we didn't.

Oh yes, I noticed that when I saw the episode yesterday, and looking back, Mac's mum being there doesn't make any sense :blooconf:. The party was set up by Bloo.....but Mac's mum thinks that Mac got rid of Bloo. Hmmm.....

Those scenes were from before Mac was forced to give up Bloo. After all in the episode Mac did say that Bloo had been pulling this stunt "every year"

Doesn't explain why Mac's Mom was in on the prank sometimes, I guess she just has a twisted sense of humor and leave it at that.

Cell_Phone_guy 08-16-2008 09:23 AM

This is a theory: Maybe Mac's mom was on it, especially in the year before Mac was made to give up Bloo was that she may have been planning on making Mac get rid of Bloo for some time and Mac's birthday was her trying to make it easier for the day she told him to get rid of Bloo.

Mac-a-lacka 08-16-2008 03:36 PM

That's a pretty good theory. Except it's obvious that Mac forgave him all those times with the possible exception of the time Bloo did it at Foster's. :P

I never noticed that either; thanks for pointing it out!

I've always thought (or wanted to believe, maybe) that Mac's mom and Bloo had a pretty good "hey, there" relationship- just like the kid you sit next to in French class who you chat with while you're there, maybe be partners with once and a while, but don't do anything with after school. But those kids always get annoying after a while, too, so... I guess they wouldn't be that hard (aka BLOO) to kick out. ::)

The prank wasn't the party, the prank was getting Mac into the tutu so he'd be humiliated AT his party. The only one who knew Mac would be in a tutu was Bloo, everyone else thought it would be a normal party--- maybe not on his actual birthday, but a normal party otherwise.

Good eye. I generally don't pay attention to background details when watching the episodes.
