Me love... COOKIE!

Here it is, my ultimate masterpiece for Foster's Fan Creations, the adorable confection that's baked to perfection! (OK, it won't exactly wow Art Director Martin Ansolabehere, but give an amateur a break).

First, we give her a nice, light golden tan:

Then, after applying the, uh, strawberry-flavored hair gel, chocolate flavored eye lashes and lip gloss:

http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/5...cookie2xe0.jpg

We have this! (Sadly, the hair part broke soon after peeling her off the parchment paper. I think I put too much hair gel.)

Fortunately this was my first and only try (it took easily over an hour to prepare), and clearly improvements could be made. The face is too long, eyes slightly unequal, and teeth portion too short, for example.

Oh yeah, the hardest part was trying not to get the icing mixed up with the chocolate. I didn't want to risk cooling it and having it crack off, either. Need more practice... what should I do with the remaining ball of short dough I have..? :bendy:

If anyone is curious the ingredients were:

short dough: 100% (weight percentages) flour, 66% butter, 33% regular sugar, 12.5% beaten egg
hair and tongue: Strawberry jam, store-bought
Line detail, hair clip and earring: melted dark chocolate
teeth, white of eyes: royal icing, fit for a princess (100% confectioner's sugar, 20% egg whites)

That's like so amazing dude, great job with the frosting and jam.

Great job!! My own cookie-decorating skills could use some work, I'm hoping to take a local class soon.

Oh, very nice, dude!

Yes, indeed, control yourself on the sugar consumption, young master Mac :herriman:

That looks too good to eat! :smed:

BluebottleFlyer 05-01-2008 09:51 AM

That's brilliant, man.:) Though I imagine it would be a shame to have to eat it.

Frankie_4_Prez 05-01-2008 09:55 AM

You're right, the whole experience was kinda surreal. I mean, I knew from the start I'd have to eat it, or toss it in the trash if it didn't turn out well. I was totally shaking when I put together the eyes. It really felt like the cookie was looking back at me :wiltshock:

I doubt I'll ever make another cookie of a favorite character. It's only a bittersweet moment when you actually have to eat it.

Mac-a-lacka 05-01-2008 10:02 AM

Would you maybe make one of Mac?:) Or is he also a favorite?

Frankie_4_Prez 05-01-2008 10:36 AM

Poor Mac. I couldn't stand eating him. I was thinking of Eduardo... lotsa grape jelly :edmad:

Aw, man! now I'm hungry.:-[8D

I think I'll bake a Cheese cake next...

... like a regular, round wheat flour cake, but iced and decorated like Cheese's face. It'll be all about appearance, not flavor, so I'll keep the bulk simple and sturdy to simplify the decoration.

Carlaz 05-06-2008 04:17 PM

Kudos to you! That was totally awesome!

Frankie_4_Prez 05-06-2008 05:21 PM

Speaking of cakes, has anyone ever watched the show "Food network challenge" on food network? They pit 4 teams against one another and it's generally about creating a huge (3+ feet tall) cake of cartoon characters, children's books or shows, and cityscapes. I wonder what it would take for them to feature Foster's on that show. The mansion would be, like, totally sweet.

KazooBloo 12-26-2016 03:37 AM

I want one.
