Foster's Imaginary buttons
Found this set on eBay not too long ago:
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...25/Buttons.jpg Each one measures about 1.5 inches in diameter. Good quality, too, and cheap; including shipping, I paid maybe $5.00 total. Snapped 'em up without stopping to think about it. ;D Note that these are not "official" Foster's merchandise, which is why this thread is down here instead of in the Company Store section. You can tell they're not "official" because the set includes Frankie, Madame Foster, and Mr. Herriman, and there's no sign of Cheese anywhere. |
Isn't this kinda like bootlegging considering they're profiting off of Foster's?

They probably used the high-quality images from my clipart section, and I don't have one of Cheese. If they did use my images, that would be why there's no Cheese.

You know, anybody can make copyrighted items on Cafepress. Go there, upload the image, order the item IMMEDIATELY, and it will be printed and shipped before anyone can even catch it. It works every time. The only time I got caught before I could order was when my connection was bad and I went to bed after uploading the picture, planning on ordering the item the next morning.

I've seen these pop up on eBay now and then. Wow, that's not a bad price at all for the quality (and size, I'd expect them to be smaller). Nice catch, Cass! |
I plan to wear the Mr. Herriman button when I have to moderate something, the Bloo button when I feel like being a brat, and the Frankie button... actually, I'm not planning on taking that one off. :-*
There's another set available right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/9-Fosters-Home-f...QQcmdZViewItem They come and go in clusters, I think; there's often a number of sets available in the span of a couple weeks, then nothing for some time. |
As long as they're using official images and not someone's fanart. It sucks way too much when people do that; it's happened to me as well as many online friends. :sadbendy:
edit: Lol the seller thinks Foster's is on Nickelodeon... |
Very nice!
You know, I do actually own one of those Bandai badge-making devices. I haven't yet used it to make any custom Foster's badges, though perhaps I should give it a go some time. |

It's actually marketted as a children's toy, though I'm sure that the grown-up appeal is just as strong. The price on the official site is fairly expensive, but I was fabulously lucky when it came to the purchase of mine - I got a complete set (used, but all the bits and pieces were still there) for three pounds at a car boot sale. You basically cut out the picture you want for your badge yourself, and then the machine compacts everything into place, so they're probably not as good quality as the digitally printed ones you bought on ebay there, but I still think that the results are pretty nice. :) |
Looks intriguing. Doesn't say how large the finished badges are, though.

4cm is about 2mm larger than the ones I bought. Might not be a bad investment.
Late last year Walgreens had some blank snap-together badges available that were about twice that diameter. I picked up two of them but never did anything with either until last night; one of them now has a pic of Mr. No-no inside. 8D |
Nice find.
