Block Party #40 - "Game Master"

In this comic escapade, it's Bloo's turn to pick a game to play at the home for the evening, but (a) he's taking each game too seriously and (b), to quote Frankie, it's "so boring it's making my teeth hurt." Story by Robbie Busch, pencils by Stephanie Gladden, inks by Phil Moy.

Also in this issue are Camp Lazlo and Ed, Edd & Eddy.

This one is already on my site, here, for those who want to read it. Remember that I have hard copies if anyone wants to buy one.

Wilt: Dude.

I'm ROFLing over here just from that quote.

"Shoots and Candy"? "Ladderland"? Where do they come up with this stuff? XDD

Bloo: Was it Mr. Ketchup in the foyer with a dumbbell?
Eduardo: No, Azul, it was senor chupacabra in el bano with the machete.

Nice white shoes, Wilt. Lol where'd you get them? J/K.

I also like the fact that Aaaalllllll of the main cast was in this comic. (Yes, even Frankie.) :D

I was laughing over Wilt's "Dude" comment myself! I didn't notice his white shoes, though, so I've gotta go back and check 'em out; who knows, maybe he got tired of the Chuck Taylors and decided to move up!

I also got a kick out of the "rock, paper, scissors" game between Madame Foster, Bloo, Mac, and Wilt...I was like, "Wilt, those aren't scissors, bro...those are PRUNING SHEARS!"

Eh, only in a few places in the comic where he seems to have either uncolored or white shoes.

Well, I would just say its as close to scissors as Wilt's gonna get, with his longish fingers of his. :D

Oh, 'tis a sad day when Wilt moves on from Chuck Taylors... :(

I actually managed to buy myself a copy of this! I was in Anchorage in early January and hit a comic book store out of sheer boredom. I was perusing the shelves and, lo and behold, I see CN Block Party! <Insert "Hallelujah Chorus">

Needless to say, my trip to a comic book store wasn't wasted!

<Tries to suppress laughter so my parents don't know I'm online and using a forum to boot> I'll never be able to think of this image without thinking of that comment and laughing ever again. Thanks for no doubt making future really crappy days a little less so, pbl!

Haha, Bloo will be Bloo! 8D I loved it when Bloo falls off the table, and then Wilt's expression when Ed hits the golf ball through the window. Great one!

I just love the fact that the whole cast is in here, including Frankie. It was a wonderful story with quotable moments.

Yeah, that was one of the best things about it. That's what I miss so much from the past season, those little interactions between the entire "core" cast. If comic book writers can come up with material that features the entire cast, instead of always focusing on just one or two(occasionally three, tops) characters, why can't the writers of the show? I know it costs a lot more to make an actual episode, but the end result is so much better when there's something for everyone.

LOL, this was so much fun to read. :D

Yeah, I had a chance to read through it yesterday (1/22) at the Borders in Center City Philadelphia. (Real Philadelphians never refer to it as "downtown"). Pretty good work if I must say.

Ccook50 01-23-2008 07:34 AM

Stephanie Gladden, penciller for the story, is always a treat to read.

KazooBloo 12-15-2016 12:26 AM

Ugh, Camp Lazlo.
