Foster's McDonalds Happy Meal Toys

So sorry about the horrible pun, you'll have to forgive the new kid. Anyway, as the title hints at, McDonald's (starting today) is featuring Cartoon Network character toys in their happy meals. Unfortunately, there are only two Foster's toys, (Bloo and Wilt) and all the toys are back to school themed (in other words, most of them feature pencils XD). I was a bit surprised that it wasn't Burger King this time, but I think this might be due to Mattel and Macdonald's long time partnership (and Mattel wants to promote it's new CN line, I'm sure). Anyway, you can see get a glimpse of what they look like over here: (by the way, I saw them at a US Mcdonald's, I'm not sure if the promotion is available in other countries)

(In case anyone's having trouble with Flash like I was or doesn't want to navigate all the way to the images, here's Wilt and here's Bloo)

I'm surprised that they're suddenly with McDonald's but I'm sure you're right, I think Mattel does always go with McDonald's...too bad there's only 2 toys, but on the other hand perhaps we should be glad there's more than one. ;) Thanks for the head's up!

pitbulllady 08-31-2007 05:23 PM

So I'm not the only one having trouble with Flash? My computer absolutely refuses to download the new Flash player, and it says that Internet Explorer is what's not allowing it to download. Maybe I can try downloading it with Netscape...

Anyway, thanks for posting the pics, Sparky. What exactly is the Wilt figurine-an eraser, or what? He looks sorta strange with all-white boots, no scars and a red wristband, nothing that a little Testor's model enamel paint can't fix, though. I checked out the McDonald's in Bishopville, but all they had were "Camp Lazlo" toys. I'll try to hit Hartsville and maybe Florence's McDonald's tomorrow, while I'm hunting for the Foster's calendar(s).

On The McDonald's Drive Thru Menu Sign...

...I saw Bloo. No joke.

I was going to Arby's with Mom for dinner, and as we entered, I looked at the Drive Thru Menu from McDonald's. And lookie lookie, Bloo was on the sign, holding a fork in one blobbish hand, and maybe a small thing of fries in the other. His tongue was sticking out of his mouth. (No, he wasn't drooling or anything) I wasn't close enough to know everything, but Mom and I saw it by the time we left Arby's. :bloosmirk:

Sadly, we didn't miraculously have a digital camera with us. 8D

Sparky 08-31-2007 06:45 PM

Well that's because McDonald's now has Cartoon Network toys, as mentioned in a thread in the Company Store section...

But I don't think I'm willing to go to the McDonald's drive-through to get a photo. :P Anyone else up for it?

antgirl1 08-31-2007 06:57 PM

Darn. I'm sorry. I had gotten home not too long ago and couldn't get on to see the thread as it was stormy out and we arn't allowed on computers on storms, and I was just too excited to browse first. 8D

pitbulllady 09-01-2007 11:38 AM

I'll see if I can get a pic; the sign on the Bishopville, SC, McDonald's has both Bloo AND Wilt on it, as well as the other CN characters, but Bloo is in the center and is the largest.

narfcake 09-01-2007 02:18 PM

'twas parked right in front of one earlier (when it's 110 degrees out, you want a shady parking spot under a tree, even if you're going to another store), but alas, I didn't have my camera ...

pitbulllady 09-01-2007 05:06 PM

Here's the pic of Bloo from the drive-thru menu at the Florence, SC, McDonald's, where I also FINALLY found the Wilt figurine...

and here's the promo poster in the window of the Hartsville, SC, McDonald's...poor Wilt, once again he's reduced to the Headless Imaginary Friend due to his height, lol!

The first one was what I saw. :D

Well, at least Wilt is actually *posing*. Lol.

Zeitgheist 09-02-2007 09:21 AM

Yay, Camp Lazlo too! :D (yeah I'm a big CL fan) too bad Edward's not in it

Carlaz 09-02-2007 01:49 PM

Thanks PBL! Cool pics!

cartman414 09-02-2007 02:35 PM

Shame there's no Eduardo. :-/

some guy you dont know 09-02-2007 10:04 PM

yeah i saw that today and was actually quite the suprised. but ill probably go and get some of them over the next month i guess. i might post a pic if i get them all too.

One Radical Dude 09-02-2007 10:58 PM

Lol, I want those Drive-Thru signs (when McDonald's is done with the promotion), but I guess I'd have to get all the stuff (even those from other CN shows), like I did with the Foster's deal at Burger King. :P

One of the Wilt toys is available on eBay Express:

pitbulllady 09-03-2007 07:23 AM

I managed to snag both the Wilt toy and the Bloo toy on my McDonald's excursion on Saturday, at two different McDonald's restaurants. I almost didn't get the Wilt toy, because when I asked the woman at the drive-thru if they had any of the Foster's Home toys, she told me that they only had the ones from "Camp Lazlo", which is all that they had in Bishopville. When I went to the window, though, I was wearing my Wilt t-shirt, and she saw it and said, "We only have THAT guy, you know, from "Camp Lazlo", so I set her straight about just who "that guy" is and told her to bring me the toy!

Poor Wilt toy. Got no wov.

Invader Bloo 09-03-2007 10:58 AM

Why is there a toy of the bullshark guy & not one of Jake's friends? That's stupid.
Surprised to see Wilt opposed to Ed. :O

Not anymore. I just bought him. :D

Medikor 09-03-2007 02:19 PM

I just got back from Mcdonald's, myself. I didn't expect to see those signs in my area. I took a quick scan at the toy display and only seen a toy of Bloo. Cool stuff. :D

kageri 09-03-2007 02:28 PM

Bloo must have really sticky hands blobby appendages, because those pencils are basically just sitting there with nothing to protect them from the force of gravity. Oh, cartoon physics.

kageri 09-03-2007 04:02 PM

Nice white shoes you got there, Wilt. Those are some observant toy-makers.

ptps 09-03-2007 06:18 PM

I'm just traumatized by most of the Wilt toys they have on sale. Most of them don't even come close to looking like him. T__T;;

Bloo, on the the hand...

Headless Imaginary Friend LOLOLOL poor Wilt XD

Yea, Wilt looks...well he's not colored correctly, and he looks...not as skinny as he is suppose to be D:?

The rest of the Wilt toys I have seen have been pretty good though...but then again I've only seen like...five I think? A bouncy ball with him in it (also has Ed in one and Bloo in another), a figure, and if you count the plush they made, which looks good in my opinion, minus the fact that his shoes are green and the 1 on his chest is all white D: Also one that comes with a Foster's Mansion model, and then one that is on a stand I believe D:

But I agree, the McDonalds toy scares me, and will probably give me nightmares.

Bloo, however, looks pretty cool, it'd have been sad if they messed up something so simple as Bloo :]

Wendi 09-03-2007 07:50 PM

LOL My friend got a wilt one. HE'S ALL SHORT AND FAT.

It's cute though. 8D

antgirl1 09-03-2007 07:56 PM

The ONLY existing accurate Wilt toy out there is the figurine from the figurine set. Everything else is unaccurate. XDD

Lynnie 09-03-2007 10:56 PM

The same seller also has a Bloo "Wacky Writer". Only one though. Here it is for anyone interested. :bloosmirk:

I drove past a Mickey-D's today and looked, and sure enough, there was the poster in the window. Caught a glimpse of something blue, it had to have been Blooregard. Didn't stop, though.

Bloo2daMacs 09-04-2007 11:01 AM

I managed to get a Bloo toy, but they didn't have any Wilts.

"All we got is the blue guy" he said. I peered beyond the counter and saw a whole box of Bloos. That was amusing, I tells ya. 8D

I'm dissapointed in how freaky the wilt toy looks though. What's that green thing between the stalks of his eyes anyway?

Aww, poor Wilt just can't catch a break in that department. Maybe he'd have more luck if he started kneeling.

xxxClaire 09-04-2007 12:17 PM

I found out they also have the toys in Canadian McDonalds (Or at least my local one). I got a Bloo today!

That kind of reminds me of Cuckoo For Coco Cards when everyone had a Bloo card. 8D

Bloo2daMacs 09-04-2007 12:20 PM

Now I can see Ed saying "Oh, everyone has a Bloo McDonalds toy. It's the Wilt McDonlads toy that's really rare!"

xxxClaire 09-04-2007 12:26 PM

8D
And then Bloo collects them all without Coco's help. :P

It'll make all those little problems go away. :D

lucyrocks73 09-04-2007 04:45 PM

Went to Mickey D's today... My brother got a Bloo. Thank goodness, because now he can stop stealing the one I got at Burger King a while back.

****
Just looked up from my laptop, and my Bloo is not on the shelf on my light where he usually is.

I suspect something is up.

-Marty (who is now off on a Bloo hunt) ::)

You coul exchange it's body, head and "legs" (Bloo has no legs) with the ones of another characters.
Unfortunately, I never bought the Happy Meal, so I don't have the toy.
I also remember that there was a very little advertisement with the same characters on the bottom of were they put the toys so you could see them.

I've seen pics on Wiki. There was a Number 1 toy right?

I'm dissapointed in how freaky the wilt toy looks though. What's that green thing between the stalks of his eyes anyway?

That green thing is a plastic strip that has different wavy edges to let you trace different scalloped borders or lines on something. It fits in a slot between his eyestalks and can be removed for use. What bugs me isn't so much that the Wilt figurine is short and fat(love handles, lol), but that the shoes and socks are just all as one, with no color other than white, making it look like he's wearing white boots, and the wrist band has no color other than red, so it blends in with his arm, and there's no white border around the number 1 on his chest. His scars are not black, and barely visable. I used enamel paint to add the needed colors, enlarge the pupil in his good eye, paint in the lines between his teeth, and I removed that green thing. I super-glued an elastic band inside the slot where the green thing used to be and now he adorns the inside rear-view mirror of my new bright red Chevy Aveo that I just purchased after having to put the RAV-4 into semi-retirement(it has over 300,000 miles on it and was getting to the point where I didn't feel I could trust it on long trips, and the Aveo gets 37-38 miles per gallon). Wilt looks pretty darn good now, fat or not!
