2008 Calendar

I was glad to find the 2008 Foster's calendar at a Calendar Club (or one of those stores) today at the mall. I'd been seeing the calendar for sale on eBay for a couple months, and I was afraid that would be the only way to get one. But no, they're available in shops. Just wanted to let you guys know so you can keep an eye out.

I scanned the back of the thing to show you guys the little thumbnails of all the different months, but my scanner software saw all the individual images and decided to scan them all separately...lol, oh well. So here's most of the months (June and August didn't scan right for some reason). *edit: June and August have been added There's also cute images at the bottoms of the actual calendar pages.

January

February

March

April

May

June

July

August

September

October

November

December

plus the first page, which has the last four months of '07 on the bottom half.

By the way, I don't usually gripe too much about the way Frankie is portrayed on merchandise, but...she appears 5 times here (4 in months and once at the bottom of a calendar page) and EVERY time, she's pissed off! Note once does she look happy. :jk: Geez. You'd think ONE time she'd be smiling...I do get the feeling that the people who put the merchandise together have some notes or something they follow on how to portray the characters, and Frankie's says, "She always looks harassed." :P Sorry for the mini-rant.

One Radical Dude 08-28-2007 04:25 PM

Cool, you purchased the calendar! D'oh, I don't get to see June (my birth month). That's all right, though. I'll get the calendar eventually. 8-)

Sparky 08-28-2007 04:34 PM

Oh I thought I remember you saying you got it already..oh well. Yeah I'll try to get better scans of the individual months eventually (they won't be complete height-wise though because it won't all fit into my scanner), plus the characters on the bottom calendar pages.

June has Mr Herriman looking stern (exactly the same picture of him as from September in fact), but this time he's reprimanding Mac and Bloo; August has Ed, Bloo, and Mac laughing at Coco, who's sipping from a teacup held in her foot. That one's a little odd; I guess they just find the sight of her drinking from a cup held in her foot funny. They should see Kiwi eat stuff out of her feet. ;)

At least she's part of the merchandise for a change (that's a hint, Hot Topic!). Looks good, and I'll no doubt buy one, but like the last two years I'll be making a dedicated Frankie calendar of my own.

antgirl1 08-28-2007 05:10 PM

LOL at Wilt on November. Honestly, look at his FACE.

Lynnie 08-28-2007 05:11 PM

OOoooooh, thanks for the info, Sparky! I've seen this on eBay and was thinking of getting one eventually. Last year I was thinking of creating my own Foster's calender with screen caps (including some, if not most, from here!;)), since online photo albums usually have an option to buy a calender with your own pictures. When I saw this, I thought Cool! Maybe I don't have to make one after all! But I'm irked too at Frankie being mad in all the shots. Why is Frankie's image being portrayed like that? I don't think she's upset on the show even half of the time. Why does society want her mad and upset? Yeah, that irritates me. I might make my own after all, so I can choose my favorite pictures to be in it, but I'll need to think about it some more.

I know ant, I call that image "the one with stoned Wilt". It's the image on the front of the new hoodie at HT and everything. Lol.

That's pretty cool! Thanks for posting it, Sparky! :D

Now I definitely have a good calendar for 2008! And the December image looks all too familiar... it's like I've seen it somewhere. *looks at his shirt* Oh, right. XD

Zeitgheist 08-29-2007 12:11 AM

Argh, this is why I hate living in Sweden XD I want that calendar, so bad!

I loved April (my birth month) with Frankie chasing Mac and Bloo <3 But yeah, Frankie DOES look pissed off in every pic. Meh, I don't mind :P I like her better that way (*hint*avatar*hint* XD)

pitbulllady 08-29-2007 07:36 AM

Oh man, I am definately going to be hitting Books a Million now! They carry Calender Club calenders. I was sooo hoping that someone would come out with a Foster's calender, but never actually thought I'd see it become reality!

I love the look on Wilt's face in the November pic, lol! All he needs is some groovy '70's era threads, and he'd have a major Venus Flytrap vibe goin' on!

And yeah, Bloo would totally drop live turkeys from a helicopter for Thanksgiving, too(for all y'all who don't get it, those last two were references to "WKRP In Cincinnati", one of the best tv shows from Wilt's era).

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing, Sparky. :D

I'm already fixed in the calendar department for 2008 (Ratatouille all the way), though if I ever come across a Foster's one I can always shred it and use the pages as decor.

PS: Stoned Wilt is adorable.

Lucca 08-31-2007 08:06 AM

Just a heads up, my local K-mart had a bunch of calendars for only $5, including a Foster's one. I'm pretty sure it was the same, but since I didn't purchase it, I can't confirm that.

Sparky 08-31-2007 01:17 PM

Woah, thanks for the tip...our apartment is located basically right behind a K-Mart, I'll check it out today and let people know if its the same.

It probably is, but I'm kinda hoping it's not, since that would be great if there are TWO different Foster's calendars!

Sparky says she got one and it's slightly different. Pictures will be posted later.

One Radical Dude 08-31-2007 05:20 PM

Really? I have got to see how this one is slightly different. :P

Yeah, me too! Maybe the publisher got complaints about "stoned Wilt" on the November page, lol.

Yeah, that was a joke.

Sparky 08-31-2007 06:09 PM

Okay, here are the differences:

The $5 one is made of a less-heavy stock than the $14 one.

Cover comparison shot ($14 one on the left)

Both are "16-month" calendars, meaning that there are 12 regular full calendar pages, plus 4 mini-calendars on the first page.

First page comparison shot ($14 one on the left)

The calendars pages themselves do not have characters on them.

Compared to the picture list I gave you already for the $14 calendar:

January's pic is the same as the $14 February
February is the same as October
March is this one
April is the same as September
May is this one
June is this one
July is this one
August is the same as April
September the same as June
October is this one
November is this one
December is the same as December

(note I'll update the missing images in the first post as soon as I post this)

Crash-N-Cortex 08-31-2007 06:12 PM

I never knew there were two calendars. I do like the images though. I think I feel satified now.

One Radical Dude 08-31-2007 06:50 PM

So, there really are two versions. I guess there's only one version online, and there are more than one offline.

I can just imagine the angry fangirls...:D

BTW, these are really cool, and good that they are different in some ways.

One Radical Dude 09-01-2007 10:25 PM

I went ahead and ordered the 2008 calendar on AllPosters.com, getting a 20% discount (using a code that expired today). So, I ended up paying just slightly over $16 total.

pitbulllady 09-02-2007 09:50 AM

I'm gonna try checking with Barnes and Noble in Pineville, NC, tomorrow, on my day off from school, since Books a Million didn't have it. Actually, it might be better to wait, since most places really don't get the calender section fully underway until November, and the Books a Million employee I spoke with said they only have about 1/4 of the calenders now that they will be getting. K-Mart in Florence didn't have ANY calenders at all, not yet, anyway.

Looks cool! Thanks Sparky for the pictures. :)

bloonuggets 09-14-2007 05:16 PM

Maybe next year, they'll have holiday pictures for Easter, the 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

KazooBloo 12-15-2016 12:22 AM

What episode is the March screenshot from?
