Foster's Hoodie at HT

It's cute!

It's a babydoll size though. I may get the XXL anyways, after all I can wear it unzipped.

Cassini90125 08-07-2007 04:21 PM

Nice, and it's about time they had something that included Frankie.

pitbulllady 08-07-2007 06:16 PM

That looks great, very stylish, and best of all, its got all of the characters in color, not just Bloo! I'm gonna have to look for a XXL myself, if they have them.

OHMYGOSH THE COLORS!:P I love it! I really need to make a trip to the mall.

Lynnie 08-07-2007 07:56 PM

Oh! Oh, oh oh oh! OH!! Oh! Oh, oh, oh!

Oh!

I too reeeeaaaallllly need to get over to the mall. :bloosmirk:

Sparky 08-07-2007 08:03 PM

By the way, this retails at $44.00. I thought I'd tell you, because I'm already seeing them on eBay for $50 (that's the starting bid, $65 is the Buy It Now). *Before* shipping. So don't be taken in. Hopefully they'll be on HT's site before long.

Shelltoon 08-07-2007 09:04 PM

Oh come on! Why is everything Babydoll sized?

wiltfangirl93 08-08-2007 11:57 AM

Oh how colorful! Someone had a good idea when they made this! :berry:

Blame marketing?

Look at PPG - the WB sell sheets noted a target audience of girls, despite knowing that 60% of the audience are males and 40% are adults.

They're to blame for the whole PPG in style crap too ... no one at CNS wanted it.

This said, at least a good bit of Foster's stuff is for adults ... it could be worse, y'know. Having seen little stuff in the retail channels prior to this year, I was feeling that the market would be as dry as Dexter's Lab stuff.

Sparky 08-08-2007 01:08 PM

Well I got one, and spent the morning altering it. It may be a tad big now, but eh. I can wear it and it's not tight. And I like the robin's-egg blue ribbing I substituted for the pale blue.

pitbulllady 08-08-2007 07:27 PM

I think that the bright blue alterations look better than the pale blue, also, and "go" with the colors on the hoodie better, too. If I find one of these, I might have to send it out to you in CA, Sparky, for the same treatment as yours, since I consider it a spectacular feat of sewing if I achieve success in sewing a button back on! Hoodies are SUPPOSED to look too big; at least that's how people wear 'em around here.

Lynnie 08-08-2007 07:43 PM

Nice work, Sparky! And I really like the blue extention you added at the bottom. For the most part I like my hoodies (and sweatshirts) to be a bit big and extend down over my back side. If a top with fabric as bulky as fleece ends higher than that, it tends to cut me in two. And I'm short enough as it is, so I don't need that. ::)

It's cool to see I'm not the only one here who's handy with a sewing machine, too. I have yet to do anything Foster's related, though. I usually do doll clothes or costume acessories. I might try my luck at making a plushie sometime, though. It could be fun.

Sparky 08-08-2007 08:06 PM

I just got home, and I wore the hoodie and one of my altered babydoll Foster's t-shirts (the "I *heart* Bloo" one). I was stylin'. ;) Lol. Anyways it was very comfortable, I could have made the wrists a little tighter but otherwise it was okay. Well, I have leftover of the blue ribbing if you're serious, pbl. :cheese:

Yeah I definitely added a good two or more inches to the bottom. But as for it being fleece...its not. It's just a printed t-shirt fabric, really. You think HT would charge only $44 for something made of *fleece*? It's just a t-shirt with a hood and a zipper. :P

Lynnie 08-08-2007 08:44 PM

Wow.... It's really just knit? Not for warmth at all? I knew HT was pricy, but that's pretty steep for just being knit. In the pictures it looks like it could be a "light" fleece or something, Oh well. As big of a fan as I am, I'd still spend that, though. :bloosmirk:

Well, it is HT ... ::)

At least for t-shirts, it's at least double the wholesale price. That I'm deducing since small t-shirt shops ordering small quantities (dozen or less of a design at a time) run $9-10 wholesale ... a large outfit like HT would surely negotiate for less than that.

Again: t-shirt with a hood and zipper. :P Really.

If they ever come out with printed blankets, I'm buying some and making pullovers with them. Because I know they'll never make actual fabric for sale by the yard.

This is why I'm working on some Foster's knitting designs. ;)

If I can get a chance to get to a mall within the next few weeks, I'll see if they have one that will at least sorta fit. A long-sleeved t-shirt with a hood sounds fine, with our climate. I don't even start wearing a jacket normally until we get temps down in the low '40's at least. Right now, with daytime temps reaching 110, NOT factoring in the 90% humidity, it's sorta hard to think about wearing anything with sleeves! We've had a full week of 100+ temps, dropping no lower than about 89 at night, with horrendous humidity. My two window units here at this house, where most of the animals are, have been struggling to keep the place from becoming dangerous, and I've had problems with them icing up and threatening to quit completely because they can't get rid of the condensation faster than it is accumulating, due to the heat and humidity. I'm mostly staying at my grandparents' house about 1/4 mile away, where there is central air, but even that's really having a tough time. Add to that BOTH car batteries called it quits in one week, and it's really tough to think about going to a mall right now!

I wouldn't buy these things from Hot Topic; they are sadly too expensive for me.
I prefer to shop for my clothes at places like Goodwill and the Salvation Army; but they have yet to get any Foster's apparel. Actually, they don't have anything fashionable at all.
I usually end up buying flannel shirts and old vinyl records.

Not likely anytime soon either ...

- Stuff from HT hasn't been out long enough for folks to have "gotten sick of it" yet.
- No glut of kid's apparel either, so it's not likely to show up because they were outgrown.
- Earliest stuff was mostly from the studio ... way too limited in quantity to show up (if donated) beyond LA or Atlanta areas.

I almost like your version of it better, Sparky.

I WANT that Hoodie. My mother won't let me get it though, just you wait- she'll say it's too "busy", just like the Craig's blog shirt (which I'm not allowed to wear out of the house, sadly...)

I think I like your altered hoodie even better then the original. I agree with everyone else too- the robins egg blue looks so neat!

Great job! I don't think many people would be able to tell that it got altered if they hadn't seen the original.

ClessAlvein 09-21-2007 11:24 PM

This may be a rediculous question, but I'll ask anyway...

Are all of the Foster's hoodies, shirts, and bags with sayings on them that are sold at Hot Topic made for females only, or have they made Foster's shirts and other merchandise for males?

They have shirts made for males.

http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/sto...=1190446562156 - This is a guy's shirt, but I bought it anyways =P

All those ones I posted are for guys, the girl's shirts have a female model in them :] There were also guy shirts released in the past, but are no longer available in stores, unless you're lucky enough to find them on ebay.

Sadly, the number of girl's shirts greatly outnumber the guy's shirts, but at least they have some :] I like the guy's shirts better, they have longer sleeves, thicker fabric, and are more comfy :]

The rest of the stuff I think is aimed mainly towards girls, but I've seen at least one guy who owns and wears the white hoodie with all the characters all over it :]

I also have many guy friends who would buy/wear both hoodies that have been released :]

Hope that helps~

Just curious, how did he look in it?

I thought he looked rather snazzy :3 But in any case, you can decide for yourself =D

He's totally camouflaged in the background ;]

Sparky 09-22-2007 03:28 PM

He looks great! ;D

Lynnie 09-22-2007 04:24 PM

lol, that's just too cool! I love that hoodie, too. I've worn it a few times already, once was to work and a girl in another department told me how much she loved it. I knew she was a fan since last winter when she complimented me on my Bloo hoodie. The other time was just visiting my parents and my sister "stole" it. She didn't want to give it back because she wanted to show it off at school the next week. I just wish it had heavier material so it'd be warmer. Oh well, I still love it! :D

ClessAlvein 09-22-2007 10:49 PM

So the shirts are unisex, huh. That's all I wanted to know.
By the way, the shirt on this link is the Foster's shirt I got for my birthday!

I couldn't help remembering I made this post today while I was re-altering both this hoodie and my green Foster's one back to their original sizes. I have lost 120 pounds, lol.

Cassini90125 10-24-2013 11:04 PM

That's one hell of an achievement. ;D

ismelllikecanada 03-10-2016 02:34 PM

Whoa, that jacket looks awesome, i'd love to buy it. seems nice too.

KazooBloo 12-14-2016 11:47 PM

I like HT but I wouldn't wear that. Doesn't look unisex.
