CN's Fusion Fall Game

For those who haven't already heard, Cartoon Network is coming out with a new online game next year called Fusion Fall- Cartoon Network Universe. It looks really cool, and appears to feature most (if not all) of our favorite CN original characters- including Mac and Bloo! Possibly other Foster's characters too, but we may not know for sure until next year. Here's the official sight for a preview of the game-

http://www.fusionfall.com/index.html

I like the different styles the characters are drawn in, they look really cool! It shoudn't be hard guessing who each is. If you watch the trailer, you'll catch a quick glimpse of Bloo, and the back of Mac. If you click on the links on the bottom that say "Contact us", "For Parents", and "Privacy Policy", you'll see a sweet pic of Mac; including his eye color! :)

Anyhoo, I may never actually play it, but it looks like it'll be a pretty cool game. I personally thought it was so fun to see the characters in a totally different style, so even those who aren't really into gaming may still like to see that. :D

Sparky 07-26-2007 10:36 PM

We just went to a panel about that here at the Con, and I know ORD got some shots of the game. When it gets close to launch time, the game will probably get its own subforum here. Though...I'll probably pass on making a section of my website for it. :P

WiltFan 07-26-2007 10:50 PM

Whoa, it's Cartoon Network characters anime style. =O That's SO cool! This looks like a fun game, I know i'll be playing it for sure!:D

antgirl1 07-27-2007 12:11 AM

Well, it's official - I registered to the site. :D

BTW, I found Bloo:

Little Baby IceCream 07-27-2007 06:20 AM

I just registered too! Man, it looks sooo good and similar to some other games I play!

Little Baby IceCream ;)

emperor26 07-27-2007 07:43 AM

Even though this might be fun, I think I would pass since I'm no big fan of MMO.

Other than that, it looks good.

Sparky 07-27-2007 05:33 PM

I decided I'd go ahead and sign up now, so I did.

I know the style used in the game is popular but I'm not wild about it. Oh well. The future beware: the Never Forgotten Club is forming! :slybendy:

Little Baby IceCream 07-27-2007 05:34 PM

I really liked the style they used in the game. I'm a big fan of games I can play with other people!

Crash-N-Cortex 07-27-2007 05:58 PM

I just registered. It'll will certainly be a fun game for sure.

W00t! In Summer, we will own the fusions! (Or monsters) :D

If you see someone named "antgirl1" or "Rachel" or something like that, that'll be me. XDD

Cassini90125 07-27-2007 06:20 PM

If you see anyone named "Cassini90125" it'll be an imposter. :P

GrimTheLost 07-27-2007 08:32 PM

I joined, same SN as the one here. It looks like it will be fun.

Nyo 07-28-2007 07:47 AM

Two words:

HOLY. CRAP.

I haven't signed up yet, but I must say, THE ART STYLE KICKS BUTT.

Lynnie 07-28-2007 04:01 PM

Just came upon some new details about the game, which came directly from the Con. Thought I'd pass them along-
  • You won't have to travel long distances to get to do new adventures. There will be action basically everywhere in the game. :D
  • If the game is successful, a possible TV series might spin off from it
  • Unfortunately, it will not be free. There will be a fee to play, although the price hasn't been decided yet
  • The game will need to be installed on your PC, not played from your web browser
  • The game is set to be launched Summer of '08

Upsetting to hear it won't be free. In that case, I hope it's worth the money. I have my doubts about a TV series, too. But, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :-X

Nyo 07-28-2007 04:05 PM

You have to pay for it? And install instead of play on the Web? Aww, man. I'm not gonna bother signing up.

(I might watch the possible show.)

Little Baby IceCream 07-28-2007 04:23 PM

Hmm..still a debate on whether I'm going to play it or not after hearing the news. It's not a problem to have it installed on my computer, but the fee might be a big issue for me since I pay for another game. I haven't been playing this game much. I still have another year to decide if I want to keep playing this or not.

If it's not that expensive, I will probably play it :)

Now I say, personally, I have no more interest of this game. I cannot waste money actually PLAY something, WITHOUT a free trial or something. Unless, of course, they mean by you'd have to buy the GAME from a store or something, not to pay TO play.

You know, that explains the anime Frankie I was seeing.

Lynnie 07-29-2007 01:47 PM

Drat, I hate being the bearer of bad news. So sorry, you guys.

I just revisited the sight today, and I must admit I just love seeing the anime Ben, Abby, Dexter and of course Mac. Thanks Antgirl for posting a screencap of Bloo in the trailer! Now here's Mac, too.

Here is one person's impressions from another forum I go to.
Quote:

Cartoon Network is working on an MMO called "Fusion Fall". The lead designer worked on SWG in the old days, and I had a chance to talk to him. (I guess he isn't much of a Sony fan anymore...)

The premise of the game is a bit on the silly side (Earth's about to be assimilated by some weird blob of planets that have crashed into each other) and it shows a lot of *obvious* Toontown inspiration (the devs are apparently huge fans), but I got to try a gameplay demo, and I have to say that the work these guys have done is amazing, and the game will be smooth and enjoyable. It is skill based, and skills are based on collecting "nanos" (chibi versions of CN characters that float above your head). Each Nano has a spell or attack that will help you, but you can only take three with you at a time. This puts you in a position of having to choose a total of three skills, depending on if you want to solo, take down a major dungeon with a group, etc.

Nanos are mostly heals, buffs, and debuffs though. The vast majority of combat is done with either a ranged or melee weapon, and combat is fast and fluid.

The *real* CN characters send you off on storyline-based missions, of which there are apparently quite a bit. You can do missions for either good or evil characters (which will reward you with good or evil Nanos), and you can play both sides if you wish. The premise of the game involves the fact that evil characters aren't exactly immune to Earth getting sucked into a mass of planets either, so no matter which faction you lean towards, you're helping save the day.

Furthermore, a lot of equipment and collectible items in the show are artifacts and/or outfits from assorted CN shows. (For example, a Plumber suit and a Null Void Projector, or that bowl of "tangelos" that Billy once wore on his head.)

The game is *very* twitchy, uses the standard WASD control scheme, plays quite a bit like Phantasy Star Universe (I apparently wasn't the first to tell them this. Ironically, the devs have never played!) and...oh yeah, Grim will turn up when you die.

PvP is still in conceptual stages (they haven't finalized whether they're even going to do it), but I can easily see it done with the combat system. With the controls and gameplay, it would likely be as frantic as playing Halo!

CG 08-01-2007 04:08 PM

I signed up and got a sweet lil' Eduardo keychain, and since I attended the panal I got Four Arms from Ben10. See?

taranchula 08-01-2007 05:11 PM

I got an Eduardo key chain as well, and all I did was play the game at one of the kiosks for like five minuets. Didn't even need to sign up. So ha ha, I guess. :p

CG 08-01-2007 09:18 PM

Well when I was there you had to sign up. Which is silly since I'm from Aus and lied about where I really am on the sign up thing. *shakes fist* I really do hope it comes to Australia.

Lynnie 08-14-2007 06:43 PM

Here's another fun look at some of our favorite CN characters in anime style, just thought I'd share. :bloosmirk:
http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a.../FFCNUbook.jpg
See Blossom and Bubbles? And DeeDee?
The folks who attended ComicCon may have gotten one of these. It's an actual comic book based on the game. I haven't found any info on if a comic book will be a regular thing, or it was just a special promo for the game at the Con. This one is available for auction at eBay.

Here's the eBay auction if anyone's interested in it.

Invader Bloo 08-14-2007 07:06 PM

Hmmm...I dunno if I wanna play. It's anime which I hate, but it's CN which I mostly like. Hmmm...

Little Baby IceCream 08-15-2007 03:04 PM

I have decided I'm going to play it..of course, I need to get an allowance to do so. Idk if it will be more or less than a MMO I already play...better start saving up!

I also can't stand it when things are turned anime just to make them "cooler", but I will probably play the game anyways. *shrug*

Lynnie 08-15-2007 07:18 PM

Frankly, I've never liked anime. It was too actiony, when I always preferred comedy. And many times it was too "adult" in story lines, when I always preferred the more innocent childhood themes. I tried to get into Pokemon, because it looked like a really cool idea. But I couldn't even get into that. I guess I just don't like the style, period.

I still think it's cool to see CN characters drawn in a totally different way, though. Even if it's "anime" style. I just think it's fun! And actually, if you ask me, they don't really look all that "anime" to me. They just look "different", and older. But I totally agree- I hate the mindset now days that a cartoon has to be anime to be "cool". So not true! And I'm glad everyone's presence here proves that. :yeah:

kageri 08-15-2007 07:26 PM

....D.....

....Dexter? Is that you?! What's with the pants? Since when is there anything between the coat and boots?

Obnoxiousness aside, idk if I'll play this. I don't think my computer could.... IS THAT MOJO JOJO?

Yeah. I'm thinking about not playing this these look nothing like the characters, like Kageri said.

Shelltoon 08-16-2007 03:30 PM

While I agree, the style is not to my likings... it could be worse. Coco could have ended up like this:

I have a lot of problems with anime, which I will not get into now because it would be a big post with a lot of good reasons for why I don't like it (anymore) and it would be off topic, so I'll just say this, I think that turning things into an anime style is just pathetic, no offense to anyone here but I think it means that they think anime is a "superior" style of animation and that's just sad, in my opinion. I've signed up and I'll give it a go but I'll probably stop after a while and never play again.

*shudders in HORROR*

Okay, I love anime, and I've done a teeny-bit of "what Foster's might look like as an anime". But those kind of things are usually fan-made so no one cares.

The fact that they've actually taken CN characters and made them over into anime...

I have no issues with the graphics. The graphics are nice. But... it's Mac. Mac as a cute little shoujo boy. Dexter looking pretty. Bloo with bambi eyes.

...URGH. *shudders* I'm staying far, far away from this game. What on earth does making an MMORPG have to do with making everyone anime? Is it because it's an "in" thing?!

AAAAAAAAAAAAA! scary! :P Where did you find that?! Anyways, I'm not really interested in this game, sorry. Is that ok? :P :D Anyways, anime-iflighing characters, is something I don't really like much. I thought the meaning of anime was "A style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art and often adult themes." That's from Dictionary.com.

don Jaime 01-11-2008 05:32 AM

Weird CN game coming for summer.

Take a look at this: http://fusionfall.com/index.html Appears to be a CN massively multiplayer deal, as filtered through the infamous Bleedman comics. It's open for beta testing if you're a gamer. Foster's is included. The gallery includes an outside shot of the mansion, and the video page is framed by a picture of Mac with a frighteningly normal head. A wall-eyed Bloo can be briefly seen early in the video itself.

I'm not sure this is a good idea. It's all creepy looking when the CN characters show up. Not all the shows mesh well, either; how do you combine the Eds' cul-de-sac with the Kids Next Door?

I've never played one of these, so I don't know if it's different than other games like this. I don't expect it will be mind-blowing, based on the last big game. Awesome House Party is glacially slow in progress and some minigames are flat out impossible. I may be wrong, but I don't think this will be any good.

taranchula 01-11-2008 06:31 AM

^^ I noticed you started a new thread on Fusion Fall, just so you know we already had a thread going about Fusion Fall, so I took the liberty of merging the new and old threads, to keep things simple.

Remember we do have a search function, which can be a time saver as it will help posters to see if certain threads on certain subjects have been posted already.

Carry on everyone.
