Canada, here I come!
I now have less than thirty six hours to go before I board that plane and jet set across the Atlantic for what I anticipate will be a very pleasant three weeks over in Vancouver and the Rockies. It’s also on the agenda to cross down into Seattle for a couple of days which, for such a keen Frasier enthusiast as myself, will be a dream come true (and while I’m at it I’ll have to make an effort to finally check out one of these Hot Topic stores I’ve been hearing so much about). It’s unlikely that you’ll be seeing very much of me within that time, but I’ll be back mid-August, and I’ll try to call in at an Internet café at some point while I’m there. Until then, take good care of yourselves – I’m really going to miss you guys. :)
Oh yeah, and please remember that I’m a vegetarian, so needless to say I won’t be taking any requests for bacon. Anyone who asks will be hunted down and forced to watch my bootleg copy of Kip’s unreleased movie “Gooples in Space” Clockwork Orange-style. You have been warned. ;) (Hugs her Babe plushie). |
You'll love it here in Canada, juicey! I guarantee that you'll have a great time, eh. :D

Have a great time! :)

Hey, I formally pre-welcome you to Seattle! Yup, the home of Frasier, and also Grey's Anatomy. There are plenty of Hot Topics out here. I recommend the one in the Alderwood Mall, which is between Seattle and Vancouver, so it won't be out of the way. And it's right off Interstate 5, so easy to get to. I hope the weather cooperates for you when you get here. In the next few weeks it doesn't look like it's suppose to be too hot, which is nice. But I also hope the rain lets up a bit (it's very damp, drizzly and even chilly today). Have a fun visit! :D

Have an awesome time, eh!
Aw, no bacon? How about maple syrup, then? It doesn't even hurt the trees. |
Thanks, guys (and cheers for the directions, Lynnie - hopefully this Hot Topic thing will live up to its reputation and I can swag some awesome new Foster's stuff while I'm there). :D

Take care, all. ;D |
Yeah I can go on and on all about all the different maple based food stuffs you can get up here, you know kind of like that scene in Forrest Gump with Bubba listing off all the different ways you can prepare shrimp, only with the word shrimp replaced with the word maple.
So have a great time in this crazy country of mine, I've never been to that part of Canada myself but I hear it's real nice. |
Have a great time in Canada, jekylljuice.

You're gonna love it up here in Canada! :D I've been to Vancouver several times myself. It's really nice, you're gonna have a blast! :)

Have a great time in Canada, jekylljuice! Hope you have a great time!
Little Baby IceCream :cheese: |
Have a nice time, JJ!
I'll try and have this wet and muddy little island cleaned up by the time you come back. Has anyone got a mop? |
Get an Ice Capp at Tim Horten's.
Thats what I say to anyone coming to Canada, even in the winter. (what? I still drink them in the winter!) |
I haven't been there at all, but I do have an interest to visit in the future. You have fun in the land of Canadia (um..err..Canada). :D May it be a safe one.

Thanks for all the warm words of farewell, folks. I touched back down upon my native soil this afternoon, so it looks as though you're stuck with me once again.
I had a wonderful three weeks abroad, and Lynnie, I owe you big time. :) I had managed to locate a Hot Topic near the city centre of Seattle, but it was pretty small and mostly Foster's-free, but the store your directions led me to appeared to stock virtually everything that's currently on the website. Since I had no idea when I was next going to be in Seattle (and since the US dollar-UK pound exchange rate is currently so good), I treated myself to a full-on Foster's shopping spree, encompassing the Wilt, Coco, Berry, Deo Bloo and Quiet Intensity Bloo shirts as well as a whole bunch of pins and keychains, which I reckon will keep me going for a while. I was also quite tempted by the Cheese shoe laces, but I decided not to get too carried away. Fortunately I still had enough cash left over to go up the Space Needle and get a nice panoramic view of the city. As awed as I still am by all the sights that I saw in Vancouver and beyond, it seems liable that I'll be seriously jetlagged for the next couple of days or so. I think I need to go and lie down for a while. :herrsleep: PS: I'm afraid I missed out on this whole Tim Horten's thing, Subzeroace. I'll put it at the top of my list of things to look into next time I'm on Canadian territory...I'll see to it that there is indeed a next time, since there's still so much left of the place that I'd like to explore. |
Awesome, I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to these parts! And happy to hear the HT at Alderwood carried through in supplying some awesome-riffic Foster's merchandise. It's a great mall, once you're inside. Was there a lot of traffic and congestion in the streets around it? There always seems to be when I go. I sometimes get myself lost in trying to go home because it's nearly impossible to turn the direction I want to. I just have to follow traffic (one of the reasons I don't go to the mall very often). But it's still a great mall. ;)
Aw, no need to owe me for the directions. Happy to help. Glad you got home safe and sound, and that you had a great trip. Welcome back! :) |
how's Blighty treatin' you, JJ?
