Bloo's design forgotten?

This was on Wikipedia...

"Bloo was intended to be a walking, talking blanket (as seen on the original website), but apparently, everyone forgot about that, including the creators of the show."

What do they mean by that? I always thought the theory of Bloo being a blanket made sense, but how did the creators "forget" that aspect?
Are they referring to some other concept design or webpage? (I want to see it if so, I need ALL Foster's info!)

Its just a badly written statement that should be changed. No-one forgot anything, Bloo's design just changed in development, just like all the other characters

EDIT: I reworked the line to just say "Bloo's early design resembled a walking, talking blanket "

One Radical Dude 08-29-2006 12:11 PM

The statement, without a doubt, was definitely biased and not necessary.

Agreed. Thanks for pointing that out, guys. I forget Wiki is less then reliable.

And One, your avatar is so cute, that's got to be one of the best captures of Bloo's expressions ever. Awww...:bloosmirk:

billytheskink 08-29-2006 04:32 PM

Poorly written statement at best.

Even the creators forgot about it? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Kzinistzerg 08-29-2006 07:16 PM

They just changed it a lot before it was finalised.

Of course, rarely are characters from any medium exactly the same from when they were first imagined to their final design. Look at Wilt, he wasn't even the same color in early sketches.

Kzinistzerg 08-29-2006 07:25 PM

I know what you mean, I have this one character who went through about ten different changes in one of my stories.

Absolutly. One of the main characters in the piece I'm working on now changes age whenever its convient to the story. Right now he's the age of Ish (15-ish, 16-ish... you get the idea)

Kzinistzerg 08-29-2006 07:50 PM

Heh, lol, the age of my character changed from fifteen to nineteen to thirty-four to fifty-four to seven thousand and something.

Oh dear, Wikipedia strikes again. There's no way you can 'forget' about something like that. Even if you changed the concept completely, you'd still acknowledge that the original concept was there. The whole idea of having an initial original concept is to develop the character further until you get what you want. That's what I thought anyway.

Kzinistzerg 08-30-2006 09:11 AM

Well, yeah. Wikipedia is infamous for these things.

Sims Katie 08-30-2006 12:46 PM

Thankfully, they can be easily corrected

(*ahem* by which I mean: if you see a problem, fix it yourself! Don't just sit on your tush complaining, that's how things get this bad in the first place :P )

Sparky 08-30-2006 02:51 PM

Yeah. The only time I ever did anything on Wikipedia was the day I went into the Foster's section and changed all the "Terrance"s to "Terrence"s. :) I *could* fix it, so I did.

Sumshine 904 11-24-2006 07:11 PM

Hahaha, well, the only time I change anything on Wikipedia is when I see something terribly horrible. Like the article on Steve Irwin when he died... It was very sad, annoying, and furiating at the same time (I'm a fan of his so you get the idea). Luckily I didn't see anything when I saw the article, only the fact that it was closed to newly registered users due to people posting dreadful stuff on there.

And when I went to the Foster's section once I saw someone put that Wilt had a brittish accent. DX I would've changed it but I had to get off of the computer. When I cam back later to change it however the statement was gone. =) Huzah!

On topic...

Wikipedia's a load of false statements (as I would put it, "a truck load of crap"). The idea of Bloo being a rug was kinda wonky and all but I doubt the creators forgot about it.

.....what.

That article needs serious patrolling.

Sumshine 904 11-24-2006 07:20 PM

Indeed.

Oh, and to top all of that off, someone also put that Duchess was created by Frankie when she was little. It may be possible, but the odds of that being revealed on the show is highly unlikely. And I doubt it's even true.

Not a rug...a security blanket.

swarlock 12-02-2006 01:18 PM

I'm a cartoonist and when I first drew the cartoon who was my alter ego when I was seven. He went through many changes. From wearing watching black pants and boots, wearing a tee shirt to indicate his age, then to wearing turtle neck sweaters.

Funny thing is many people rely on wiki for their homework, reports, and other projects for school. Like me, lol.

It's pretty accurate as far as actual scholarly encyclopedia stuff goes. It's just got some very tenacious Foster's haters.... or fans who want to make people think their ideas are canon.

KazooBloo 12-16-2016 04:19 PM

I'm glad he wasn't a blanket.
