If the gang had cars, what would they be???

Okay, as we say on the NML, it's time for a thought sparker!!!

If the cast of Foster's had cars, what would they be?

I always thought Goo would have a bright yellow punch buggy. I'm not sure why; I just kind of thought it would fit.

Can anyone else see Frankie teaching a teenaged Goo and Mac how to drive on either the Foster's bus or Madame Foster's car? That makes me laugh...

I'll be quiet now.

pitbulllady 08-26-2006 01:58 PM

Yeah, Goo would totally have to have a Beetle, since she does have that Bohemian aura about her, and that particular vehicle was as much as symbol of that Hippie era of the '60's as Jimi Hendrix and peace signs!

When Mac grows up, I can see him with something very practical, though not particularily eye-catching, something like a Toyota Camry, perhaps.

I can absolutely see Wilt in a late '60's muscle car, though he'd be hard-pressed to find one with either automatic transmission or the shifter on the steering column, since he'd have a tough time shifting gears AND steering with just one hand.

Eduardo would probably be too scared to drive something with an actual engine in it, so he's just as well off with his tricycle.

Given Bloo's driving record from "Bus the Two of Us", he'd be just as well off with a tricycle, as well, or better yet, a Big Wheel!

Coco needs one of those wild-looking Jeepsters that they have over in the Philippines.

Mr. Herriman would probably be quite happy with something like a 1937 Ford Anglia coup; I know someone who's got one for sale, and when I saw it, Mr. Herriman came immediately to mind.

Madame Foster would not give up her Firebird, so that's a moot point there.

Frankie would probably love to have a Mustang convertible.

Bloo would get something flashy, like with the flames on the side that are supposed to make it look faster and cooler than it actually is... if anyone would actually sell him a car.

No flames! Bunnies! ;D

(Waits for incoming brick...)

bloonuggets 08-26-2006 04:49 PM

Shut up. At least the bunnies are on fire.

Nyo 08-26-2006 05:04 PM

I wanna see Bloo with a Harley-Davidson.

I can see him on the Harley, dressed in leather, cruising down the highway with "Born To Be Wild" playing in the background. 8-)

Nyo 08-26-2006 05:16 PM

Cassini, that would own. Can you do that in The Sims 2 for me? Please? With sugar on top? ^_^

Cassini90125 08-26-2006 05:20 PM

I'll see if I can find a bike somewhere; the game doesn't have them, but someone's probably hacked a car into one by now. :)

Nyo 08-26-2006 05:29 PM

OK, thanks.

(Gives Cassini a gold star)

My computer is ollld, so it can't play Sims 2, but it can play Sims 1.

Cassini90125 08-26-2006 05:48 PM

Still a good game. Got any screencaps? :)

Nyo 08-26-2006 05:52 PM

Nah, I dunno how to take 'em, and I don't mind. Besides, it takes forever to install.

But we should get back on topic. I can see Frankie in a Ford SUV, and it says, "I love my fan-boys!" on the hood. That was for you, Cassini. ;D

billytheskink 08-26-2006 05:58 PM

Frankie could drive a 68 Ford Fairlane, 3 speed on the tree, with an FM radio in it. Eh?

Kzinistzerg 08-26-2006 08:19 PM

I can totally imagine Bloo on a Harley. The funny part is, it fits him perfectly in that Harleys... well, they suck. They're the thing you think of when you think of motorcycles but in reality they're the sucky lower end. So while HE'D think it's great the rest of us bikers would be snorting behind our helmets on our japanese bikes.

Eduardo might upgrade to a bicycle with training wheels.

Nyo 08-26-2006 09:07 PM

I got the Harely motorcycle idea form my dad. He always wanted a Harely. Tee-hee.

BlooCheese 08-26-2006 09:21 PM

I can sort of see Bloo on that Harely Davidson motorcyle trying to look all tough or Bloo in a shiny black corvette with hot rod flames. (Or bunnies for Cassini.)

lucyrocks73 08-27-2006 05:51 AM

I can see Mac getting an old Corsica from the late 80's/early 90's... My dad had one of those until recently. I don't think Mac would care much about WHAT he was driving as long as it ran.

Bloo would probably be all over him, trying to get him to get a convertible or something of the sort.

Bloo on a Harley... Ha... I think he'd still be hankering after that race car bed (I know one he can have... it's in my garage because my little bro's too old for it)...

Y'know, I think he'd try to somehow make it so he could drive the race car bed!!!

I'm insane, and proud of it. ;)

I've had a Harley Sportster 100th Anniversary Edition, which was a nice bike, though the seat wasn't very comfortable(Sportsters are not made for long drives). I traded it for a Ridley, which is an American-made V-twin with automatic transmission after I fell down the steps of my house and severely damaged my left foot and could no longer shift gears on the Harley(you have to lift UP on motorcycle gears). Ridley bikes were, ironically, originally designed for a guy who'd lost his left arm in Vietnam, since the clutch on a motorcycle is also on the left handlebar, so if Wilt were to ever ride a bike, it would have to be a Ridley. Fortunately, the company is in pretty tight with the guys at Orange Co. Choppers, so I guess Paul and the boys would have to design a custom automatic chopper for the Wilt-Man!

I can't see Bloo on a Harley, though, no matter how badly he'd want one. The Sportsters are their smallest bikes, and at 5' 2", I could barely manage mine. I don't think that they make a bike for a 2" nuthin' blue blob, sorry.

Me, I wouldn't give two cents for a rice burner, but that's me.

Kzinistzerg 08-27-2006 11:44 AM

Oh! gove him a z-50. it's the smalles bike there is!

Thornwhistle 08-27-2006 01:55 PM

From watching "Bus the two of us,I think Bloo would be more suited to drive a pick-up truck.

Emma 08-29-2006 02:37 AM

Bloo = Hummer

And not the new one with better gas milage, either, those are for pansies. ;)

HAH I can just see him getting in trouble at Foster's for doughnuts and ditches in the front lawn!!

(Then trying to justify it by saying how "so totally awesome" it was)

I can see Coco... in one of the scientist's cars speeding away from the lab 8D

lucyrocks73 10-20-2006 07:09 PM

I think that Wilt would have some type of mini van.

I'm not sure why.

I guess something has to be big enough to carry all of his basketball equipment.

I can see that....it'd also probably suit him as so many others would always be asking him for a ride, and he'd always be more than happy to try and and accommodate them all, being as extrarordinarily kind as he is.

You don't need much in the way of "basketball equipment", other than a uniform(shirt, shorts, sneakers, socks)and a basketball. How much space can those take up? It's not like football, where you have to have all this protective gear, like pads and a helmet. I guess I associate mini vans with "soccer mom" types, hauling bunches of kids around to various functions, and going shopping, and needing space for the baby seat. Those aren't the vehicles you normally see jocks or even semi-jocks ride around in...at least until they get married and wind up with a bunch of kids. My Art students have been working on designing "ad", of the sort that you see in magazines, and one of their options is to design an ad for a new vehicle. One of the things they have to know is the "target audience", what demographic is most likely to buy this particular vehicle, and design their ads to appeal mostly to that group. We have discussed the different groups who would be most likely to buy a minivan, a sports car, a 4x4 pickup or SUV, a luxury sedan, or one of those small, fuel-economic boxes on wheels. We were all pretty much unanimous in thinking that mini vans best suited families, especially ones with babies, who needed to be able to easily get to the baby seat in the back. Given his typical single male sportsfan demeanor, if Wilt did need a lot of space for something, he'd probably prefer a SUV, but he's also the competitive type, so if he went for something new and modern, it would probably also be something fast, designed for performance, even if it meant putting up with some inconvenient discomfort when it came to actually fitting those long legs of his in the car!

scary_dream 10-21-2006 02:21 PM

Hmm... mixing the size of an SUV and "new and modern", I could see him in an amazingly saaa-veet SUV... maybe like a shiny black SUV. Not to mention we know that he's kinda got a macho streak, so it'd also work out by not being too cheesy or soccer-mom-ish.

Pretty much I can see him in the SUV they drive in the show Entourage.

Howard 12-08-2006 07:15 AM

I think Frankie would be doing her part for fuel efficiency - so I picture her driving a Toyota Prius (the touring package which has the 6 CD changer).

Partymember 12-08-2006 07:40 AM

Frankie: old VW Beetle, candy apple red

Mr. H: Model T

Madame Foster: Triumph motorcycle

Wilt: Suburban, newer model

Bloo: Hummer H2

Mac: old Stingray

Eduardo: El Camino (rusted and mix-matched doors, hood, etc.)

Coco: VW "Thing" (look it up)

8D 8-) Oh, I love it! I'm gonna have to think about this one... Give me a day or two, I'll have something...

OK, it took me forever, but I have something:

Wilt would drive a classic 60's convertable dealy, I imagine blue in color. I can just picture him leaning up against it and it's shining in the sun, all freshly-waxed. I think he'd take some serious pride in a car like that.

Frankie would drive something really luxurious like a Porsche (forgive me if I can't be very specific-- I know nothing about cars!)

Ed would drive a 1986 Ford F150 orange pickup truck. (The exact same car my parents drive-- no joke! My dad's named the truck Old Orange.) That or a VW bus.

Mac would drive something sensible, but still neat. (And yet the only thing I can picture is a minivan...)

Coco I can only picture in a red VW punchbuggy.

Bloo... Cassini said it best-- a Harley with "Born to be Wild" playin' in the background, baby!

I can see Eduardo in a huge monster truck with shades.
