KP is back!!!

Not sure how many are fans of this show or are aware of it's mighty return, but after just watching it on TV I have to say something. Disney finally did something right and has brought "Kim Possible" back from the TV show graveyard.

Kim Possible like many Disney shows, was deadlined at a specific episode number (65 I believe) and all shows regardless of success or failure rates are usually canned after that. But the power of fandom made Disney think otherwise and tonight was the airing of the shows first newest episodes in many months.

In just 4 episodes, the show has answered more questions, and solved many requests then the series did in it's entire running. It's just as smart and funny as ever, with great use of it's characters and a even greater use of it's long waited romance between Kim and Ron.

Anyways, since I already made this thread, the question has to be asked: any other Kim Possible fans out there?

frankie_fan 02-10-2007 06:23 PM

One right here!!!!! ME!

Cassini90125 02-10-2007 07:04 PM

That would be me. I'm just sorry I had to miss the new episodes but I'm sure they'll be rerun soon. KP was, and is, the best cartoon Disney ever came up with and I am dang glad to have it back. :)

There is a website that deals with the episode situation. It can be accessed here:

The series wasn't really a favorite of mine till much later, I honestly looked down upon the series and never really watched a whole episode and marked it off as stupid teen princess crap. But when I watched a full episode, turned out I was really blown away.

The writing in this series is very sharp and aside from the sometimes obvious moral lessons they use in episodes, this show has so much smarts behind it it's scary. My only beef with the new series is that Dr. Drakken has not yet broken out of prison, other then that, new season's kicking ass in spades.

Drakken RULES! He's one of my favorite characters and easily my favorite villain on the show.

Nyo 02-11-2007 09:23 AM

I'm not a big KP fan, heck, I'm not a fan of her at all. But I watch her show out of boredom sometimes.

Oh and yes Mr. M, Drakken is cool. He's the only reason I watch the show.

I think you'd like the show now Nyo more then ever. The writing has definitely gotten smarter and the show has become far more then kids stuff, it's serious, it's funny, and it's VERY consistent. They lead up right after the "So the drama" movie's climax.

Which is an AMAZING movie even if you don't follow the show or watch it often. Drakken's a hoot, John Dimaggio plays him wonderfully and I always felt his dialouge with Shego is some of the best scenes of the episodes.

Nyo 02-11-2007 01:42 PM

Well, I'll try to find one of those eppies if it makes you happy...:)

I liked his conversation with Shego when he got kicked out of Big Daddy's room! ('You didn't mention the password?!?' 'Thought a genius like you would figure it out!' 8D )

I got the perfect episode for you, trust me, this episode is the IDEAL one to get hooked on Kim. It's called "Rappin Drakken" and it's about almost exactly what the title says.

I gurantee you will love this one.

Subzeroace 02-11-2007 07:54 PM

Yay KP! That was my fave show for the longest time! I knew about the new episodes and am waiting for all of them to d/l right now! *squeals with excitement*

Can't wait to see episodes with Drakken and Shego ^^ they rock!

"C" the Dragon 02-14-2007 04:25 PM

Oh, shoot! I forgot to see them!:P I was planning to see the 4th season of KP, but I must've forgotten! Oh, well. They'll come on youtube.:P

Mr. Marshmallow 02-14-2007 04:52 PM

Here's something to give you a good laugh, and a good idea of the show's amazing quality. One of the best moments in KP history "C".

KP's pretty cool...Not one of my favorite cartoons, but definately worth watching if you have the time. ^^ Which I had a lot of when I was babysitting.

Muaha, I remember that rap. x3 Fun episode.

Cassini90125 02-14-2007 08:22 PM

I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite KP episode; there were so many good ones, it's hard to choose. I guess I'd probably have to go with "So The Drama", which wasn't an episode but a movie. It had everything that makes the show so great; humor, plot twists, teen angst, a well-written storyline, and a payoff at the end that had me cheering. :)

Mr. Marshmallow 02-14-2007 09:26 PM

Here, here Cass! "So the drama" was easily the greatest form of Kim Possible to be created. It had everything that made the series great and then some, music, romance, comedy, and characters that never ceased to amaze and entertain me. The dance scene at the end is one of the sweetest scenes I've seen.

Kim Possible has such a spark of originality, I think alot of cartoons can learn from. It's no where near as simple or cliche as a super hero cartoon or an average Disney toon. There's quite a few episodes that really stand out. "Emotion Sickness" is an amazing episode, that was such a wild ride.

I never get tired of "Bad Boy", "A Very possible Christmas" was also a great holiday episode, on par with Foster's. "Job Unfair" I really enjoyed, and I know it's a VERY overused plot but I thought "Mind games" with the body switching was alot of fun.

And of course, :bendy: "Rappin Drakken" kicks major ass.

That's my favourite KP episode. My favourite part was at the end, when Shego still had the chip on her. She goes to attack Drakken, and he whines, 'Mommy!' Hilarious!! 8D

Nyo 02-15-2007 05:08 PM

Muahaha, that rap was classic. :bloocross:

taranchula 02-15-2007 06:34 PM

I don't watch this show all that often, but when I do, I always find that Drakken and Sheego are the highlight of whatever episode I happen to be watching. (Provided they appear, of course. :P )

If Disney was smart they should so give those two their own spin-off.

Well currently Shego has been released from the prison in the show and she's actually been showing up A LOT more. Drakken's still behind bars, but they still showed him and he's still as smart and funny as ever.

And judging by the great comedic chemistry they have and judging how the series is going so far, I'm certain those 2 will be back for more fun and more laughs.

Medikor 02-16-2007 07:17 AM

I'm not a fan of the show but my brothers are. I don't mean that I dislike it, cause I watch it somtimes. The scenes with Drakken and Shego are always gold!
It's good to see the show back. Definetly Disney's best in ages. So how many shows is that that have come back from the grave now? Family Guy, Kim Possible, and Futurama. *Crosses fingers for the Brak Show*

I saw it, and it's pretty funny, and I like the rythem!:D But still, I missed the first four season 4 episodes and a movie premire!:( Oh, well. Thanks for showing that vid, though!:)

Mr. Marshmallow 02-16-2007 01:28 PM

Kim Possible is constantly aired, twice a day as a matter of fact and I have no doubt that Disney will re-air the new episodes sooner or later to increase the shows hype. The movie however is very easy to get, you can get it on DVD just about anywhere.

There's another new episode starting Saturday for sure, I doubt there will be 4 new ones this time but still, a new KP episode is a new KP episode :bloogrin. You can also buy "Sitch in time", the first KP movie although I personally am not very fond of that movie.

"So the Drama" is infinitely better in my opinion and the "Sitch in time" with movie just really didn't sit right with me, it almost seemed too over the top.

billytheskink 02-16-2007 08:07 PM

It's been an enjoyable show, but from what I have seen (which is not that much, I will admit) the new season is showing signs of shark-jumpage.

Mr. Marshmallow 06-02-2007 11:15 PM

Disney the dream wrecker strikes again :(

There's something beautiful and awe inspiring about the power of fandom bringing back a show from the dead, and giving it new life. Kim Possible is a show that to me is both beautiful and awe inspiring except now, I'm just going awwww......COME ON :terrence:!

Just a few minutes ago I just read the indescribably awful news that the creators of Kim Possible have departed with Disney, and that after all the hard work and support it took to bring the series back, this season of KP will be the last. It's all right here unfortunately:

http://www.tv.com/kim-possible-blog/...g=blog;title;0

:'( This really bums me out, I mean REALLY bums me out. As Mr. Incredible's midget sized boss Mr. Huff would say "I'm not happy Bob.....NOT happy"!

Cassini90125 06-02-2007 11:39 PM

Aw, man, that show is the only thing on Disney worth watching, and now it's gone again?? What're they gonna replace it with, something lametarded like a Disney verson of My Gym Partner's A Monkey? No, they should just run a half-hour block of empty airtime. Kim isn't replacable, and neither is her show or any of the supporting characters or the villians. The show is smart, funny, well-written, a great blend of sci-fi action and everyday teen drama. This is a real kick in the teeth. Thanks a lot, Disney, thanks a whole freakin' lot. :terrence:

I agree 100% Kim Possible was more then just a cheap knock off series from one of Disney's movies, it was a genuinely smart, original, and brilliantly made cartoon series that was funny and well cast. Every character on the show was well developed and well used, and the new season has really fixed things up.

It corrected alot of the flaws of the first show and in my opinion, has made much progress. This comes as a colossal kick to the balls and it hurts me just as painfully. From what I understand, the only way KP could survive is if a new team of writers and staff comes on board and takes over the show.

Now whether or not that is worth keeping the show alive for, I don't know. It all depends on if they truly botch the show up which I pray to god isn't the case. This is a great show and if I were Disney, I'd be kissing those guys feet to get them back because they KNOW what they are doing.

I wouldn't want some new people to come and totally ruin it, but on the other hand the show could possibly survive on and continue to please fans. So long as Kim Possible remains Kim Possible. But still, this is a great insult and a major letdown to me.

lucyrocks73 06-12-2007 06:32 AM

I'll admit that at age 11 I wrote a letter to Disney, demanding that they not cancel the show (*laughs*).

So I started to watch the new season out of obligation, then kind of petered out after a while because I got too lazy and busy...

Medikor 06-12-2007 09:40 AM

*Sigh* Disney has really been tripping over its own feet these days.I'm really beginning to think that they'll never get back to their prime in the early 90's.
Duck tales, Rescue Rangers, Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck were fantastic shows that used be the Disney standard. Now we just get those lame live action shows (no offence to those who watch them) that they throw at us.:(

Cassini90125 06-12-2007 01:12 PM

I liked "Lizzy McGuire" well enough, but I can't be bothered with the rest of them.

Hell yeah, and kick ass avatar btw Medikor.

Disney's cartoons back in those days were flawless, there were barely any shows that really captured such animated perfection as those shows. Disney really knew what they were doing back then. Now all they do is generate crappy knock off cartoon shows from their movie series like Tarzan and Lilo and Stitch.

Kim Possible was in my opinion the most original, creative, and SMARTEST toon show they ever made. The dialouge and characters in this show are incredibly fresh and they don't feel cliche, or boring, or paper thin. I've never seen a show create such inventive and enjoyable villains as Dr. Drakken and Shego, I always look forward to anytime they appear.

The show used to suffer from cliches in the earlier episodes and with bad guys like that crazy golfer. But they've really outdone themselves with this show, both movies and the newer season have shown what a great idea resurrecting this show was. And now that the creators left I just feel so shallow inside. How could Disney alienate such talented people like this?

First they fired all the animators for CGI (BAD IDEA, CGI isn't THAT perfect), and now they basically just killed the one show that everyone demanded for a come back. You know how powerful a show's fandom has to be to actually change big shot Tv executives to change their minds and bring a show back from the dead?

Only a few shows I know have actually done that, and two of them are animated as well.
