Episode Discussion: Squeeze the Day
This is my new favourite Bloo episode. Not only did we get to see Bloo and Mac run amock and do whatever they did (now I know why Keith is nominated an Annie award for this episode!), but we got to see Frankie at the beach... in her bikini (don't want to sound like a fanboy, though)!
This was a hilarious episode, especially when at the end Frankie tells Mac about the whole awesomest thing. Mac's face was priceless. 8D I also loved the 'hot in Topeka' moment. That was hilarious! 8D |

There's no doubt in my mind that this was one of my favorites from the series. This is one of those episodes where you get to see Mac and Bloo actually spend some quality time together, and I don't believe this episode could've been any better. I hope we see some more in the future.
Keith deserves to win the Annie for the category he's nominated for. I just can't imagine anyone else winning it. |
In my view, this is the best episode of Season 4(even tied with GWH). Not only is it hilarious, it's also wonderful to see Mac and Bloo actually live up to their reputation as 'best friends', something that the writers seem to have forgotten both before and sadly AFTER the arrival of this gem.
This episode and "Neighbor Pains" are fundamentally different in that the former focused almost exclusively on Mac/Bloo and the latter was an ensemble episode, but both had some really adorable moments featuring the boy and blob duo, and I truly hope Season 5 will have more episodes like these. It was nice to see Frankie in a bikini two-piece, but some reason, I don't love it as much as I do all her other "fancy" looks(but I still love it enough for it to be in my sig banner). I think her real highlight in that episode was, like f_f said, that mini-speech she gave to Mac at the very end. |
This episode is very cool. I like how Mac and Bloo are trying to have fun while they have the house to themselves. I would have fun if I had the house to myself. I hope Keith Ferguson would win a grammy for his "It's hot in Topeka" moment. I hope that everyone in Foster's is temporary banned from the beach, otherwise it wouldn't be fair for Mac, Bloo, and possibly Goo to spend their time together at the beach. This might be the last time Frankie and Herriman would ever let Mac and Bloo alone in the Foster's home, if they find out that Mac and Bloo had wrecked the elevator or when they ate all the food and made a huge mess.

Because of the 'grown-up' videos that Mac and Bloo watch, I was wondering if anyone thought that Frankie likes to read Jane Austin novels and watch Jane Austin films?
|
Seems like it. I loved that part. 8D
|
Hopefully, I wish that Foster's would go to beach again. I starting to miss that place in the show.:( If Frankie decides to take Foster's to the beach again(which I hope that Foster's are temporary banned from), she has to bring along Bloo, as well as Mac, since she doesn't want to clean any messes that Mac and Bloo have made the last time she left them alone in the house.
(BTW: I wonder if Craig McCracken has deleted scenes for this show.) |

Still, this episode stands out as one of the best, responsible for what has to be the most memorable line in all of animation; "It's HOT in To-PE-KA!" There was hardly a minute of this episode that didn't have me laughing until my side hurt, and I simply cannot get tired of watching it, no matter how many times it airs. pitbulllady |
"Squeeze the Day," as of so far, is my favorite episode, mostly because, as everyone else has stated, it showed Mac and Bloo's friendship at its peak.
I love the part when they play ball in the house; it's all quiet, but suddenly Mac yells, "THIS IS BORING!" I can watch that over and over and still get caught off guard. |
The best was IMHO "Super awesome pen". CN airs this episode like every other week (along with Bus, Big Cheese & Neighbor Pains:( ) but that still cracks me up.

One of the funniest parts didn't so much involve a line, as a LOOK; that's when Mac and Bloo have FINALLY made it all the way to top of the stairs to do The Most Awesome Thing, and Mac turns to Bloo and says, "OK, hand me the cookie sheet..." I swear, that look on Bloo's face at that point is just priceless! pitbulllady |

One of the things I thought was funny (but became overrated), was the "Hot Toe Picker" scene. The newsman sounded like that teacher that droned in "The Wonder Years." I forgot his name...
|
Along with GWH and MBIoN, this was probably my favorite episode of this season, IF just because it focused around Bloo and Mac being the best buddies like they should be. It's really hard for me to single out any one "favorite" scene in the episode, but I think one of them has to be when Bloo and Mac are looking for Madam Foster's buried treasure, with Bloo's little song as "Whipsmart McCoy".

This is My Favorite Episode now! It's so great, I Could remember the whole episode.
|
This is my favorite Fosters episode. My favorite parts are the Hot In Topeka and Piere parts. Me and my friend repeat the quotes from those parts a lot and laugh out loud to them 8D
|
This in my opinion was the funniest episode they ever created. It was completely stupid and utterly brilliant at the same time. Who would have thought mere boredom could have made for an entire episode's plot AND be funny?
The Topeka line will probably go down as their best punchline. I personally laughed the hardest when Mac and Bloo first realized they were home alone and just randomly ran around screaming going "BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH". It was just so weird for Mac to totally flip out and be the one to start screwing around, I also loved his response when he saw Bloo with the piere make up in the bathroom. "What are you doing?" 8D that was a great reaction. I too loved the "how do you play with these things", it's such an odd question concerning stuffed toys. Another favorite part of mine is when Mac reads Coco's diary and it just reads Coco, and yet Mac reads it REALLY fast anyway. The ball scene was great too. "Play ball in the house?" *throws ball* "THIS IS BORING" "I KNOW" |
It is indeed somewhat muggy in the Topeka region.
I tend to underrate this episode a lot, I think possibly due to just how unpreposessing the premise is, but reading you guys talk about it does serve to remind me how well the team did turning that simplicity into the episode's greatest virtue. Freed from concerns such as plot development, the writers let the characterisation drive this episode, allowing them to have a lot of fun with Mac and Bloo's personalities as well as reinforcing their relationship as best buds. :)
I agree with Mr Marshmallow's picks for top scenes, too; their frantic last-gasp efforts to do something awesome in the final two minutes are hilarious, just because their attempts to have fun become so self-defeatingly stressful. The delivery of "THIS IS BORING!!" and "I KNOW!!" cracks me up because of the tone of stark terror and horrified realisation in their screams. 8D And I empathise - goofing off is a serious business. Edit - Ooh, yeah, 50th post!! I am a n00b no longer; after four months, I have finally attained "Settling In"!! :D Man, I need to post more...:P |
It's hot in Topika..... lol! I luv that episode and it is so funny! IM A HOT TOE PICKER!!!
Also i would like 2 thank Sparky 4 the pic! I was looking FOREVER 4 1.... BUT I COULDN'T FIND IT..... so thx!! :) :P  :D :goo:  :cheese:  ;D |
Has anyone else ever found themselves sitting in front of the Weather channel zoning out like bloo.
or was it just something I (and maybe some others) did back when cable only had the three rows of 12 channels. (analog push button cable box) and the only things on early afternoons were Weather Channel or Donahue Monty :-/ |

And really, who needs to zone out in front of the TV anymore, anyways?
*stares at her laptop* |

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it "zoning out", but yeah, it's like something I have done when I was totally bored and couldn't find anything else meaningful to do. I haven't ever drawn all over my face with an eyebrow pencil in front of the bathroom mirror, though. pitbulllady |
Yeah, I have done something like zoneing out b4. Lol... Im laughing just thinking about it..8D

So, okay, here's my opinion of this episode:
Least favourite. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not a weak episode, I knew there was humour in there, but I just wasn't getting it. Not to say that there was no parts I got, cause there sure was, but compared to the other Fosters gems, this one doesn't match up in my eyes. Though I agree it was important to show Mac & Bloo doing random stuff together. I dunno about others but I really SEE their frendship, even when (or even especially) they don't get along. Freinds fight all the time, and the best of friends can act as if they hate each other most of the time. But the friendship is definitely still there. Still, we need an episode like this to really show that. Hehe..."Adult videos"....maybe it wasn't such a bad ep after all..... |
This is my Favourite episode! really! It's so incredibly funny!
I love when Bloo drops a chip right next to him, yet cannot be bothered to pick it up. But he goes all over the house to look for somebody to do it for him :) I love this line: "Eduardo, i cant find Frankie, Madame Foster, Mr Herriman, Wilt or Coco and seeing as you like potatoes, i have this chip..." its hilarious |
Quote:
Bloo to chip: "HOLD YOUR HORSES!" That was so funny, like that chip was complaining! I didn't even know that anyone outside the South ever used that expression, anway. pitbulllady |
I like he says: "Eduardo! I know you like potatoes & there's this chip..." 8D
Like Eduardo would come running to get a potato chip that's on the floor. I really love how it shows more of Mac & Bloo's friendship more. I really don't see how any Foster's fan dosen't like this episode. |
This episode was deffinetly my favourite! It was hilarious! I loved all the quotes like "It's hoooooooooooottttt innnn toooopeeekaaaa!", "hold your horses!" to the chip, and "I am Pierre's 3rd cousin! I have an ear on the side of my face! Mwahaha!" 8D 8D 8D And I also loved Mac and Bloo to finally have some friendship time. :) But I'm still curious about what Wilt did to the jellyfish... :wiltshock: 8D So yeah, this episode was my favourite, EVER! :bloosmirk:
|
When Mac and Bloo were going to do "the thing" was Mac just really hyper because they were going to do "the thing"?
by the way, what was "the thing"? Going in the lift to the top floor? because that sounds very...unlike Bloo and Mac. "I didn't forget it. You forgot it, forgetter!" |
It was sliding down ALL the stairs in Fosters from top to bottom. Seeming as the place has like, seven floors, it would be awesome.

Just about every scene was pure gold in this episode. I'm quite surprised that the "Topeka" scene is so popular when there were so many other pieces of brilliance, such as Pierre, Mac and Bloo running around screaming, Bloo sliding along the hallway, the whole chip saga. All so much fun. :)
|
So, I finally saw this episode.
HA! HAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! Dangit, I laughed out loud! Repeatedly! |
I know, right? :) One of the best of the best from the best show EVER! Some of Fosters' best one-liners come from this episode. I remember laughing soooo hard the first time I saw it, and still laugh when I watch it again. I also usually recite the whole thing word for word. Yeah, don't ever watch this episode with me. I'll become annoying very quickly... 8D
