Movies You're Looking Forward To Next Year

Which movies are you going to watch next year, and why?

Voxxyn 12-22-2006 03:10 PM

-Pirates of the Caribbean 3, because the first two are some of the best pure action/adventure cinema since Indiana Jones and this(hopefully) won't be any different.

-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, because I'm a longtime HP fan and OotP is my favorite book so far.

-Ratatouille, because it's by Pixar. Enough said.

Jabberwocky 12-22-2006 03:12 PM

Ratatouille looks cute, as much as I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE cg animation.

emperor26 12-22-2006 03:39 PM

-Spider-Man 3
-The Simpsons Movie
-300
-Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
-The Hills Have Eyes 2
-Transformers
-Sin City 2
-Ghost Rider
-I Am Legend

koosie 12-22-2006 04:22 PM

I am Legend as in Richard Matheson's novel that Charlton heston so badly fluffed with The Omega Man? Well that may be okay, it's a good novel.

To tell you the truth I wouldn't lose any sleep if I missed any of the rest of those mentioned and that Eragon thing looks terribly hackneyed. Give dragons some respect! Those things look like the flying dog in The Never Ending Story. Bring back plasticine!

While we're on the subject on movies this is a snippet of Adam & Joe conversation I don't necessarily agree with but it does make me laugh like hell:

J: Lord of the Rings has become the Star Wars of this generation

A: So what's Star Wars to this generation?

J: Star Wars is the Krull of this generation.

Heeheehee I'm laughing again now. Perhaps you don't remember Krull....

Cassini90125 12-22-2006 04:29 PM

I remember Krull, and I'm laughing, too. 8D

frankie_fan 12-22-2006 04:54 PM

I was going to say Happy Feet and Night At The Museum, but they're 2006 releases (they both come out on Boxing Day in Australia). So I'm going to say Sin City 2, because I loved the first one, and I guarantee that this one will be better.

EDIT

Sorry, I realised that POTC: At World's End comes out next year, so I'm adding that as well!

Mr. Marshmallow 12-22-2006 05:27 PM

Frankie fan, I thought I might let you know "Sin City 2" might be a while. I've read numerous websites about movie information and all mentioning Sin City 2 have stated that no one is really sure where this movie is going. I'm not sure if it;ll be out for 07.

Clive Owen, Abgelia Jolie, and (whoever played Big Marv) have stated that Robert Rodriguez haven't given them heads up on any new developments. I myself hope it will be out 07, but I just thought I'd let you know. Here's an article talking bout it: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news06/061210f.php

Being a movie nut, there's LOTS of movies I am really dying to see:

Pirates 3: At world's end
Spider-man 3 (those 2 go without saying)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Grind House
Ghost Rider
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (new CGI movie)
Hostel Part 2
30 days of Night
I am Legend
Hannibal Rising
The Host

And of course TRANSFORMERS! I just saw the trailer for this movie a few days ago, and it looks SOOOOO kick ass!

frankie_fan 12-22-2006 06:26 PM

I know. My brother wants to see Transformers as well. He thought it kicks ass too!!

Partymember 12-22-2006 08:28 PM

OMG Krull, LMAO

Uh...lets see
300,
Pathfinder,
Pirates 3 (Kieth Richards is doing a cameo as Jack's dad!)

One Radical Dude 12-23-2006 12:47 AM

Right now, I'd say TMNT, Spider-Man 3, and maybe The Simpsons movie.

montitech 12-23-2006 09:12 AM

Anything that has Muppets, preferably with Pepe, Gonzo, Kermit and Fozzie.

Monty :-/

"C" the Dragon 12-23-2006 01:13 PM

Dad and I would like to see "The Simpsons" movie (Yes, me and dad like "The Simpsons").:D

pitbulllady 12-23-2006 04:39 PM

Pixar and Brad Bird...seeing as how their first collaboration "The Incredibles" was one of the best animated films I have ever seen, I too look forward to this movie.

Nyo 12-23-2006 05:07 PM

I'm looking foward to:

Happily N'ever After
The Simpsons Movie

and thats about it.

Please re-read the rules, I do have one in there saying one is not to start a thread without actually contributing anything. If you're going to ask us a question, you must answer it yourself. I expect you to do so soon.

The only movie that springs to mind (there are surely others but there was a preview for this during Happy Feet) is Fred Claus. Don't laugh at me, I'm dying to see Paul Giamatti as Santa. I'd actually thought that that would be a good role for him, some time back, I forget when.

Sorry. All I noticed was that he didn't do it in the first post, which is why I reminded him of the rule.

Medikor 12-25-2006 02:11 PM

The #1 movie I'm waiting for is Transformers. But Shrek the Third, Spider-man 3 and TMNT look great too.:D

TrickyDisco 12-27-2006 04:48 PM

'Transformers' stands out of course.

But am also looking forward to:

Fantastic Four 2
Bee Movie
Ghost Rider

...don't remember anything else at the moment :P

Really? That's a first, considering how CG animation is basically all we get to see now in films. *I'm* certainly not complaining. Just as long as Pixar is still in the picture, bliss is all I'll know.

Fav movies for 2007? Not too surprisingly, Ratatouille isn't number 1 on my list. Actually, it isn't on my list at all, as it usually is with every single Pixar flick since Toy Story. I happen to fall in love with the films after I've seen how great they really are in the movies when I've nothing else to do, or on DVD.

Pirates of the Caribbean: World's End is a must for me. I *have* to know what becomes of Davy Jones and if all the hype about Tia Dalma being Calypso is true.

Spiderman 3: I have never picked up a single comic in the entirety of my life, yet here I am loking forward to seeing our spidey hero gracing the silver screen again, even if it means braving another M.J. by Kristen Dunst. I am not a fan of that woman. Plus, Venom rocks.

Those are all the flicks I can think of at the moment that I'm really looking forward to.

Kzinistzerg 01-01-2007 02:59 PM

Freeborn. Except, it's probably not coming out in 2007.
Red Victoria
Camp Lycanthrope is probably not coming out in 07 but damn I'm hoping, hehe..

Seeing as it's now 2007, will this now become 2008?

If that's the case, here's what I'm looking forward to:

Get Smart (Steve Carell + Maxwell Smart = PERFECT CASTING!)
Speed Racer (Larry and Andy Wachowski! Nuff said)
Hoodwinked 2: Hood vs. Evil (loved the first one)
Asterix at the Olympic Games (I'm talking about the live-action film, saw the live-action Asterix: Mission Cleopatra one and loved it)
Kung Pow 2: Tongue of Fury (See? There WILL be a sequel!)
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by *insert Psycho shower murder music here* Michael Bay)
Sin City 2 & 3
Nim's Island (I know many of may not have heard of the book, but it's just been greenlit by 20th Century Fox and Walden Media. I love the book, and I'm really looking forward to it)

It's amazing what you find at IMDB.com!

Edit: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time won't come out until 2009, so scrap that one!
