What was/is your IF like?
I remember starting a thread like this before, but I can't remember if I started it on this curent NF or the old one. Oh well anyways.... On this thread, feel free to talk about your past or current imaginary friends :). And talk about them as much as you want, from past to current events. I'll start.
My past imaginary friends from several years ago were Casper the Friendly Ghost, Spooky, Poil, the Ghostly Trio, and some others if I can remember. And as far as having a bf, I kept going back and forth between Casper and Spooky, although they were cousins, and Poil was Spooky's gf. Somehow, me and Poil were best friends through it all, and we constantly swapped bfs :jk:. Crazy huh? Yeah, I know. After mom made me rebuke Spooky away from our house in the name of Jesus, (rubuking a little kid's IF 8D?), then Spooky left and Poil went with him I guess. Me and Cas stayed together for a long time untill I got bored with him and eventually forgot about him. Me, him, and Spooky eunited several years later. But soon afterwards I imagined Wilt and quickly lost interest in the IM ghosts. So, they've drifted away again. My current IF's are Wilt, Bloo, and you guessed it, Calvin-YES the one from the parties. First came Wilt. He happened to come around on the day of either March 30 or April 1. I'm not sure. Anyways, having two eyes, going on 16, and taller than me, standing 5 ft 7. He's a bit out of character from the Wilt off of tv. At first, somehow, he was more like Ed. Being afraid of the dark, and don't let me get started on storms! Poor thing scared to death. Then Bloo came. And my sweet little innocent Wilt went straight to heck-well, on his way, lol! But seriously, ever since Bloo came along Wilt's been acting more and more like him. So now I have to scold him 100 times a day :jk:. Then Calvin came. Him and Bloo are buddies, (did I mention all 3 of them are brothers?) And when the 3 of them start arguing it's like a scene from South Park, yeesh! I mean, Wilt's really sweet and all, but some of the stuff that comes out of this child's mouth....*shakes head* I have to scold him 100 times a day for the stuff he says. But in spite of all their chaos, they make me laugh! |
lets see.... ive had a million. i dont even remember most of them. but right now, i have friends in tails (from the sonic games), coco, and panwaffles(more like my imaginary friend army of evil, so its more like imaginary fiends). ah yes, good times. tails always builds the cool stuff that we use to kill the panwaffles, and they ALWAYS work. coco, well she just annoys them because they dont know whats she saying, and id like to not have to say them out in public myself.

It's odd, but as creative as I am, I never had an Imaginary Friend. Like Craig stated in his Comic-Con interview, I DID talk to myself a lot, though, LOL! Rather than create my own companion, I used my imagination to "transport" MYSELF to other "worlds"-to the realms of books and whatnot. It was just easier and more rewarding to do that than to create someone else and bring them into MY world.
I can say that my niece, who turns four next month, now has an Imaginary Friend, "Baby Stick", who is represented by a small dead branch of a pecan tree. Baby Stick has started doing all sorts of bad things, like scribbling on the wall of Mama and Daddy's bedroom with a large Sharpie marker, leaving the refrigerator door open and putting younger sister's toys in the toilet. Makes me wonder if Baby Stick is somehow related to Bendy! pitbulllady |
All my imaginary friends are the voices in my head:wiltshock:

i talked to myself too, no IF's.

When I was little, Sailor Moon was my imaginary friend (so were the rest of the Sailors, but Sailor Moon was da bestest XD). Then Sonic the Hedgehog came upon my mind, and eventually the Sailors went away. Then I simply got bored with Sonic and he drifted away as well. :( Boy, I need to think of a new friend because I need someone to talk and comfort me at the moment (don't ask please).
EDIT: Done. :D Her name is Summer the Hedgehog! Whoot. ^_^ |

strange, i had a REAL person named Claire who phone-stalked me a few years back. Crazy crazy person, i think you should be more careful with letting your IF's use the telephone!

Claire is my mother's name - but she ain't crazy - I AM! Those voices in my head started to appear after being in combat twice (Gulf War/Somalia):scaryberry: |
I've never had an IF, I'm another one of those people who talk to themselves though! Heh, I still do it :P
|
Mogadishu, Duck? Thats all i can remember about Somalia.

I didn't have any when I was little, but I had a few when I was about 12-13. I can never just do anything the normal way. :D They were human teenagers, but they were time-travellers (and one was actually an alien, though his parrot was from Earth!). I do call them IFs even though I knew they weren't "real", but I talked to them in my head, rather than talking to myself. It was just a way of organising my thoughts, I guess.

hey, sometimes yerself is the most interesting person to talk to!

Well, I can hardly remember, but I used to have two of what most would've considered "Imaginary friends" when I was just a toddler. Their names were Alley and Billy, and yes, here name is supposed to be spelled as "Alley". They were both older than me, but I believe Billy was a bit older, more mature too. Alley was always getting into trouble, and me and Billy would have to save her. I faintly remember me and Billy saving her from falling off the top of a moutain. I can hardly rememer what they looked like, and ow only have a faint faint vision of them in my head, but all this remembering is making me think that Billy might've had glasses.
When I was around nine or ten, I had a little plushie I would always talk to and play with. I always knew he couldn't really move and speak to me, but I would always think to myself that maybe he could, ac a matter of a fact, I knew he could. I would always try to get him to talk by saying things like "It's okay, you can talk, I won't tell any one" and "I know you can talk, you may as well just give up", but there was always a sence of doubt inside me and he, of course, never really would talk. And as I grew older I would still talk to random ojects, and always wonder random things about objects, and the universe, and animals, and how things REALLY worked. And nowadays, I only talk to myself on occasions, and that's it. |
I've never had an imaginary friend, and I don't recall talking to myself outloud. But I'm hardly what one could call sane. When I go into lengthy periods of deep, ponderous thought, which I do quite often, the kids at school say I get this blank look on my face.

Also, I like to think about what other people are thinking about, plan my actions and predict the responses of people, and analyze my state of being as well as other peoples'. |

Someone in my sister in-law's family, I forget, somebody's kid, I think it's a nephew. Anyway, he has an IF named Jimmy Hall. The kid's about 4, 5, or 6 years old. And here's the strange part, my brother new a Jimmy Hall from a while back! Keep in mind, the kid has no knowlege of my brother's old buddy. So, strange huh? And I have this friend, Allysa, who has IF's. She claims that if you meditate for 20 minutes a day for 2, or 3 weeks on your IF's becoming realistic, like human realistic, you can make your IF's come to life. I've been trying to test this meditation for about 3 days now, so I have no clue what'll happen once I do it. |
Never heard that about meditation, you can bring "spiritual awakening" through certain meditation, but i dunno if you can see IF's as real.
Come to think of it, i had an old book called simply "Gnomes" and it was filled with great paintings, like a faux encyclopedia, from the 60's i think. I always looked for the little buggers in the woods, i SWEAR i found a gnome-sized walking cane one day... |
My first imaginary friends were the classic Disney characters- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto. I remember when I was about three pretending they all had a parade down the hallway of our house to my bedroom, they were so excited to see me! 8D
Around the age of four or five, I "adopted" Disney's Peter Pan characters as my imaginary friends. My story was that Wendy's, John's and Micheal's parents had died, and my parents had adopted them, so they became my sister and brothers. So Peter Pan started visiting my house to hear Wendy's stories, and I'd go with them whenever they visited Never Land. We'd fight Captain Hook and the pirates, and we had the power to both shrink in size and turn ourselves invisible. ;) At the age of seven, a friend of mine and I came up with the idea of coming up with imaginary husbands, and playing "house" all the time. I named him Philip Chime, after a story I listened to on vinyl record back then. It was with him that I made my most cherished memories of my IFs. I made it so real- he'd work and bring home money so we could buy food and clothes for our nine kids (all dolls of mine). He was always gone during the day because he was "working" and with me non stop in the evenings and weekends. I even imagined we'd fight a time or two, one such time I got so into it emotionally I actually started crying. We became very close over the years. At age 12, I started feeling pressure from my friends that I was getting too old for such games, so one day I cut him off cold turkey. And let me tell you, it was hard! I was so lonesome for his company for years afterward. None of my real friends were as accepting of me as he was, not to mention they of course weren't with me every evening and all day long every weekend. :P I also imagined up his family. He had two brothers; one older and one younger. And a younger sister just my age. They lived in another city and would visit sometimes. I imagined I was good friends with his sister, whom I named Samantha, but I didn't play with her as much as I did him. |
