How To Get Images Out Of BFAHP

The only way to get "screencaps" of BFAHP is to use the Print Screen button on your keyboard. It is the button that says something like "Prt Screen", and unless you're using a laptop or an unusual keyboard it ought to be next to your scroll-lock key on the right hand side of the keyboard.

http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/myimages/prtscr.jpg

On normal keyboards, even though it shares a key with "SysRq" you don't have to push Ctrl in conjunction with it to make it do a Print Screen. On my laptop it is located on the top far right between Pause and Del. It does share a key with Ins and I must press my Function key in order to do a Print Screen. So some keyboards are different. Experiment until you get it to work or check your keyboard's manual.

Pressing Print Screen sends the current image on your desktop to your clipboard, so now you need to paste that somewhere (if you press Print Screen again of course you'll overwrite the old image with the new one). For this you'll need a graphics program; even the most basic one will do, like Paint. As long as you can do something like Paste As New Image. Edit/crop/resize it as needed then save it. In order to post such an image online you will need to upload it someplace, but that's a different topic.

Feel free to correct me if any of this is wrong or if you just have anything to add. I just want this thread to be here so people can learn how to make images of BFAHP, either to post here or somewhere else, or just to keep.

I'll have to give this a go. Thanks for the info.

I have a free screen grabber program from the net but it's not very good.

Good or not, I'd be interested in looking it over. Do you have a link to it? :)

Sure thing! :D

Here's a link to a site & you can download the latest version. I may try updating with the latest version on my PC. I trust this site as they don't download spyware when you do a download.

Isn't it funny how many people do not know what all the buttons on their keyboards do? ^_^ By the way, it does not work the same way for Macs, at least not that I know of o.0 I can give you the instructions (it's really simple) if you want to edit them in, but I don't know if anyone else here uses an Apple @_@

I think it would be appropiate to post the Mac way of screenshots.

I agree! If someone could write that up for me I'll post it up there in the first post.

Screen Shots

so im wondering how people are getting these screen shots of individual rooms without the I.F and status bars at the bottom?

I found some for the lobby, outside, 2nd and 3rd floors.
Does anyone have individual screen shots of each room for thr 4th and 5th floors and the roof?

montitech 03-30-2007 04:25 PM

The screenshots without the status bar are taken directly from the game files. (not throgh an actual screenshot.)

He proboly owns Macromedia Director and thus was able to open the Sockwave cache. :bloocross:

Whilst requesting screenshots of specific areas are fine; on the subject of finding HOW to get your own you could have simply looked at the list of threads under 'Foster's Big Fat Awesome House Party!' name, and you would have seen a thread titled as such: How To Get Images Out Of BFAHP.

there are several skills/steps in order to post screenshots

1) get the screenshot onto the clipboard (this is what the printscreen does)

2) from the clipboard get the screenshot saved into a picture file.
(this is what paint can be used for) AND SAVE it.

3) optional edit the photo. I usually paste the photo into MS paint. then I open it in Fireworks and trim out my desktop and other stuff.
If you wanted to put a photo into a word document you would edit it in word.

4) once the picture file is done, then you need to upload it onto the internet somewhere. many people use Photobucket. (the free version) some people use there own internet site, ect. BUT you cannot upload the picture directly to this forum....

5 now that the picture is on the internet, you need to add the URL, Hyperlink code to that picture into the text of your post and the picture should be there when you preview you post.

Um, I'm just going to put this here, if that's okay.

Since I can't log into the game I need someone to help me. I need a screenshot of the Craig buddy, can someone take one and send it to me? I just need to see what he looks like from head to toe; in One False Movie we only see him from the waist up. Like, as I recall he wears jeans and white sneakers but I'd like a picture, even if its a tiny one.

Yes, I'm drawing Craig. It's for a project. :craig:

I would be happy to do this, only if I could log on! :P I keep getting the Shockwave error, each time the game is 100% loaded.

Sparky 06-20-2007 03:50 PM

Well, I was hoping someone already had one, given everyone's problems logging on. :(

Sparky 06-20-2007 04:11 PM

Nevermind, I just got in. :D So I got the picture - he has black shoes btw.

I used to get this error too. you just need to click "GO BACK" when bloo appears saying "WAIT A SEC! you are about to enter CartoonNetwork.com which includes pages and content that contain advertsing. What would you like to do?
GO BACK CONTINUE"
and then log in again. it should work. anyway I tried with the continue once and it work too, but the first time, it didn't worked
